**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Effectively lead a team of logistics professionals to achieve department goals and exceed customer expectations.
- Be a health and safety role model. Ensure company safety policies are being followed.
- Responsible for arranging and coordinating all outbound freight and customs operations for the business. Including:

- LTL, FTL, LCL, FCL shipments.
- RGN, Flatbed, heavy haul shipments.
- Small parcel shipments.
- Inter company shipments.
- Drive services for finished units.
- Responsible for arranging and coordinating all inbound freight and customs operations for the business.
- LTL, FTL, LCL, FCL shipments.
- RGN, Flatbed, heavy haul shipments.
- Small parcel shipments.
- Intercompany shipments.
- RORO shipments.
- Develop efficient transportation routes and schedules to minimize costs, reduce delivery times, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with the operations team to create and manage the transportation budget. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
- Coordinate with external transportation vendors or carriers when needed. Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and rates.
- Ensure all required shipping documents are created and distributed as required. (BOL’s, CI’s, PS’s, B13’s, etc.)
- Develop and track KPI’s and performance metrics for staff, freight vendors and customs brokers.
- Onboard new vendors as required.
- Process and track all freight and customs claims in a timely manner.
- Sign and approve all freight and customs invoices. Ensure all charges are aligned with agreed upon rates.
- Prepare load charts as required.
- Ensure we are compliant with all international shipping requirements and regulations.
- Update and maintain standing with all international trade agreements (USMCA, CETA, etc.)
- Review HTS codes and COO codes on a bi-annual basis. Ensuring accuracy.
- Collaborate with the inventory and warehouse teams daily, fostering a strong cross functional team.
- Jump in and assist the team with day-to-day functions and lead by example.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to enhance transportation processes, technologies, and procedures to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**: Post secondary credentials in supply chain, customs law and or transportation.
- CITT, CSCB or APICS certifications are preferred.

**Experience**:Minimum 5 years of warehousing, shipping/receiving, or transportation experience with at least 2 years of supervisory experience

**Specific Skill Ability and Knowledge**:

- Advanced knowledge of transportation, import/export and international shipping functions.
- Experience arranging heavy haul and RGN moves.
- Excellent understanding of trade regulations and agreements.
- Prior experience creating shipping and customs documents.
- Familiar with freight claims processes.
- Analytical mindset and the ability to drive improvements based on KPI data.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload efficiently.
- Ability to identify actionable tasks and self-start.
- Must be able to work well in a team, communicate and contribute ideas.
