Addictions Support Worker

**Summary**

As an Addictions Support Worker at Her Recovery, you will contribute to the delivery of bed-based services to persons with a chronic addiction, promoting client respect, autonomy, health and improved quality of life. Your duties will include carrying out assigned tasks in a client focused recovery plan which includes support to participate in activities of daily living, recreational and social activities. You will work collaboratively with other health and service providers.

**Shifts: 4:30pm-12:30am | 12:00am - 8:30am, 4 on 4 off**

- Responsibilities: _
- Supervising participants to ensure they adhere to facility rules and regulations
- Ensuring participants safety
- Reporting rule-breaking observed to counsellors during the morning shift handover
- Driving and accompanying participants on trips off-site, for example NA/AA meetings, shopping trips etc.
- Bag searches after shopping trips
- Hourly rounds throughout the building
- Facilitating the How It Works online meeting
- Answer questions participants might have and pointing them in the right direction to find answers
- Setting up continental breakfast
- Provide emotional support
- Completing a shift summary
- General clerical duties may be required, for example creating binders that contains program materials
- Any other duties assigned
- Qualifications/Requirements:_

Completion of diploma from a post-secondary program in a related field or equivalent.
- Clean Driver's Abstract
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
- Up to date First Aid and ASSIST training preferred.
