**Career Opportunity**:
- Provides effective and efficient administrative, secretarial and clerical support to the department/section. The role may also provide back up support to other departmental administrative staff when needed (e.g., during periods of absence).**What You Will Do**:
- Performing a variety of administrative and clerical duties to support the work of the Employee Relations Section as well as the Director of Employee Relations, including managing the Director’s calendar and schedule
- Assisting section staff with the preparation of grievance and arbitration files by gathering information on existing and past practices and policies
- Coordinating all correspondence, schedules, grievances and invoices for the section
- Updating and maintaining various tracking systems/databases for the preparation of monthly reports and KPIs
- Reporting on grievances
- Responding to telephone inquiries from employees, clients and the union, and directing calls accordingly
- Maintaining the section’s filing system, retrieving information from central files and storage facilities
- Ensuring the confidentiality of documents and information is maintained
- Researching, gathering and assessing relevant information for collective bargaining as required
- Participation in the TTC customer service Ambassador Program
- Responsible for treating passengers and employees with respect and dignity and ensuring the needs of passengers and employees with disabilities are accommodated and/or addressed (within area of responsibility) in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders so that they can fully benefit from the TTC as a service-provider and an employer
**Skills**:
- Communicate in a variety of mediums- Maintain documentation and historical records- Plan and organize activities / projects to meet section and organizational goals- **What Qualifications Do You Bring?**:
- A completed University Degree or College Diploma in a related discipline (Human Resources, Labour Relations) and several years of related work experience; or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent
- Superior organizational skills and demonstrated initiative in handling changing work priorities and meeting deadlines
- Superior customer service and oral and written communication skills
- Sound knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment
- Understanding of labour relations and employment related processes such as collective bargaining, grievance, mediation and arbitration procedures, and sound knowledge of related TTC policies
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and related documents
- Good research skills as well as knowledge of financial record keeping practices
- Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees
