We are currently seeking **a Maintenance Supervisor **to join our Maintenance Team at our Goderich Evaporation Plant site in Goderich, Ontario.

The Goderich Evaporation Plant is proud to be one of Goderich’s first employers, tracing back to 1867. Currently the site employs 90 people, producing an annual capacity of 140,000 tons of evaporated food grade, agricultural, pool and water-softening salt, and additionally packages 100,000 tons of rock salt, serving customers throughout the Ontario, Quebec and Northern-Central United States regions.

Goderich is named Canada’s Prettiest Town and is best known for its stunning sunsets. Goderich is a lakeside community of 8,000 people located approximately 1 1/2 hour from London & Stratford, Ontario and a 1 ½ hour drive from Kitchener-Waterloo.

The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Superintendent and will be responsible to oversee the operation of the Maintenance Department. Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment in a salt solution mine and packaging plant. Responsibility is to ensure safe work practices and procedures are followed as well as ensuring high productivity from this department in supporting all production, quality and safety departments. Quality GMP standards and safe work practices are to be followed. Effective maintenance scheduling and employee communication and development.

**How will you contribute to the team?**
- Oversee the repairs and upgrades of pumps, conveyors, hydraulic presses, screens, and a variety of packaging equipment
- Ensure adherence to all safety and companywide policies
- To lead a team of 10 unionized tradespersons and develop relationships that maximize the engagement of your team
- Constantly striving to continuously improve the reliability of all plant equipment
- Flexibility for weekend and after hours is essential when the plant has breakdowns or shutdowns

Qualifications

**You bring to the role**:

- Licensed Industrial Mechanic Millwright or a relative Engineering Technologist
- Minimum of 4-year experience, with 2 years of supervisor/management role of a unionized trades team
- Previous experience as a maintenance supervisor or planner is preferred
- Project planning experience
- Hydraulic experience is an asset
- Experienced in Microsoft Office programs
- Knowledgeable in the use of CMMS, JD Edwards E1 an asset

**How Often Are You Here?**
- This is a Monday-Friday position. Overtime as required.
- If you do not live nearby, you will be required to relocate. A relocation package is available to those that qualify.
