The Sales and Merchandising Specialist will play a key role in optimizing the presentation and promotion of our food products in retail environments. This role involves working closely with our sales and marketing teams to ensure that our products are prominently displayed and effectively marketed to maximize sales and brand visibility.

**REPORTING RELATIONSHIP & REPORTS**:
This position will report directly to the Senior Director.

**ORGANIZATION**:
Freshstone Brands Inc. (“FBI”) is a premier manufacturer of high-quality prepared food products that services the retail, foodservice, and co-manufacturing channels. The Company’s products include branded and private label entrees, salads, sides, appetizers, hand-held foods, and other prepared foods. FBI supplies fresh and some frozen items to major Canadian retailers for sale “behind the glass” or in packaged formats in the perimeter of the store, as well as to well-known foodservice customers, and some major branded food businesses under contract.

FBI manufactures its products in 6 manufacturing plants which are SQF Level 3 certified strategically located across Canada, giving FBI critical mass, and geographic proximity to the US market.

With its own brands, FBI services all the major Grocery, Mass, Club and Food Service customers in Canada either directly or through distributor and broker relationships. Additionally, FBI has co-developed and launched a variety of “own-label” and private label programs with a wide range of blue-chip, recognized retailers and food service companies across North America.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:

- _Sales Support:_ Provide sales and merchandising support to the sales team through instore visits, providing customer service and product knowledge to our retail customers.
- _Building Relationships:_ Build and maintain strong relationships with the deli and HMR retail partners, addressing their needs and resolving any issues related to product knowledge, and merchandising.
- _Market Analysis:_ Conduct regular market visits and analyze competitive product positioning to identify opportunities for improving product placement and promotions.
- _Promotional Activities:_ Implement and manage in-store promotional activities, including point-of-sale displays, signage, and special events to boost product visibility and sales.
- _Feedback Collection:_ Gather feedback from retail partners and customers to identify areas for opportunity and communicate insights to the sales and marketing teams.
- _Reporting:_ Track and report on merchandising performance, including sales data, inventory levels, and promotional effectiveness, to inform strategic decision-making.
- _Compliance:_ Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and retailer requirements in all merchandising activities.

**EDUCATION & PREREQUISITES**
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in merchandising, sales, or a related field, preferably in the food manufacturing or consumer goods industry.
- Must have own vehicle and travel to a district of retail locations.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with retail partners and internal teams.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends to drive merchandising strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with merchandising software and tools.
- Post Secondary Education in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
