**JOB DESCRIPTION**

The Carpenter/Millwork Fabricator for Exhibit Solutions Inc will be responsible for producing projects that range from basic cabinetry and crates to display cases and custom structures. Projects start with a clear understanding of drawings, cut lists and product requirements, which will lead into production and execution of booth and display properties and finish with assembly and test fit of all components to ensure quality and precise installation.

At Exhibit Solutions, you will need strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and excellent knowledge and experience with display fabrication to be successful.

**POSITION REQUIREMENTS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Manufacture and assemble high-quality custom structures
- Analyze and interpret drawings, specifications and sample parts to determine tolerances
- Plan and map out fabrication strategies, determine the sequence of operations and set up requirements, making recommendations based on design objectives and budgetary constraints.
- Initiate staging by setting up frames and testing project elements
- Ensure the quality of work and production meet client and Exhibit Solutions objectives
- Exercise excellent judgment, and proactively identify issues, obstacles, or cost overruns, delays; more importantly, create effective solutions.
- Possess the ability to work independently or as a team player
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Cultivate and promote a safe working environment
- Minimize wastage and scrap through careful and thoughtful work practices
- Report any defective equipment or unsafe working conditions immediately
- Complete basic paperwork, such as timesheets and work orders, accurately
- Available to work 40 hours per week (8 hours a day) or as necessary to complete projects.

**Warehouse responsibilities**
- Pull and prepare exhibit and rental material for client’s shows
- Load and unload materials
- Warehouse maintenance; ensuring it is clean and organized.
- Complete deliveries and pick-ups if required
- Comply with safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment

**Installation/Site Responsibilities**
- Install and dismantle exhibits.
- Working knowledge of exhibit design, construction, materials and comfortable discussing these details with clients
- Work with the team to handle & resolve issues from the client, show service contractors, freight requirements, graphics, etc. - ensuring a good customer experience
- Available to work on projects that take place in the evenings and weekends.

**SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS**
- Certification or College degree is an asset
- 5+ years of relevant finish carpentry experience
- *experience with exhibits and displays considered an asset
- Hands-on technical skillset encompassing fabrication, carpentry, and display setup
- Ability to work with tight deadlines
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Mathematical and analytical skills necessary to do material take-offs and cut lists
- Experience with materials including metal, solid woods, veneers, MDF, plastic and acrylic laminates
- Experience with Octanorm or a similar exhibit system is an asset
- Operate a Forklift - certification is a plus
- Drive a company or rental truck for pick-ups and deliveries
- Customer service oriented
- Excellent at listening, learning, and following direction
- Ability to work and thrive in a collaborative, multi-tasked environment while efficiently managing their own time
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while following all health and safety standards
- Takes ownership and pride in work with strong attention to detail
