**CONTRACTOR OPPORTUNITY**

**Emergency Management Coordinator**:
**Full-time Contract to December 31, 2024**

The Village of Lytton is seeking an experienced and dynamic, driven, qualified contractor to work until December 31, 2024, to provide Emergency Management Coordination Services for the Village.

As the Emergency Management Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing many of the Village’s risk and emergency management programs and supporting emergency responses. The focus of the position is on supporting or creating policy and framework initiatives, managing projects, and leading key programs including the response planning, training & exercise and community action programs. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing plans, maintaining seasonal readiness, and growing community response partnerships.

The Emergency Management Coordinator will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

- Set up all forms and equipment in an Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) trailer to be ready in the event of an emergency;
- Coordinate EOC Training for Village staff;
- Write an Emergency Response Plan;
- Write an Evacuation Plan;
- Assist in the full re-establishment of the Lytton Fire and Rescue Servic;e
- Facilitate an emergency tabletop exercise with Village staff and partner organizations; and
- Building partnerships with external stakeholders.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- A certificate or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in emergency management or a related discipline that includes courses in emergency preparedness such as risk assessment and emergency management.
- A minimum of 3 years’ directly related experience.
- Experience as an emergency management professional in a local government organization is preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of local government legislation and applicable legal principles as well as Statutes and Regulations related to the role, including the BC Emergency Program Act is essential.
- Experience in FireSmart is an asset.
