**Job Summary**
- The Faculty of Agriculture, Dalhousie University is a small research-intensive campus located in Truro, NS. Offering technical, undergraduate and graduate programs in agriculture, environment and related life and social science disciplines, the Faculty of Agriculture educates future leaders and generates knowledge and innovative solutions for healthy, sustainable societies. Reporting to the Assistant Dean - International, the Manager, International Projects will manage the organization and delivery of international and mobility activities by the Faculty’s International Office, including international development projects, international research for development projects, faculty and student mobility programs, public engagement to raise global awareness, and industry partnerships and contracts.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to all international development projects awarded to the Faculty of Agriculture, including oversight of memorandum of understanding and contracts related to the projects and ensuring contractual obligations are met by the International Office and by all partners.
- Lead and oversee the management of all international development projects, either directly or indirectly through the supervision of staff, through all stages, continually seeking opportunities to leverage project successes.
- Develop management systems and scheduling for new projects. Track project activities and complete project evaluations and assessments. Ensure risk mitigation/management for faculty, staff and students traveling abroad to partners and for projects. Meet project communication and reporting requirements.
- Work closely with internal and external partners to build and manage relationships and to effectively deliver projects both at an overarching promotional and functional delivery level. Foster effective teamwork between implementing partners and the overseas field office where applicable.
- Supervise full-time staff, student assistants and contract employees, as well as international in-country staff as required. This includes recruitment, orientation and coordinating office and project activities; and identifying and addressing professional development needs of staff.
- Oversee International Office budget preparation and on-going budget management of externally funded projects and internal departmental accounts.

**Required Qualifications**
- Undergraduate degree in International Development/Education or other relevant discipline plus at least five years’ relevant experience.
- Previous experience living and/or working overseas in a developing country as well as experience managing large international projects including project development, execution, monitoring and evaluation.
- Strong financial acumen in managing large complex budgets (forecasting, analysis and reporting).
- Previous supervisory experience with excellent team management skills and experience working as part of an interdisciplinary project team to effectively accomplish goals and objectives.
- Strong cross-cultural and interpersonal skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and the demonstrated ability to review, synthesize information and produce appropriate reports for various audiences.
