The Data & Analytics team is looking for a motivated thought
- and action-oriented leader who will perform the role of [Service] Delivery Manager for our data products and services delivery. Delivery teams are responsible to develop and deliver data products either greenfield or transformation/enhancing existing solutions in AWS cloud.

You will be a member of a dedicated Agile team or lean waterfall project and will be accountable for smooth flow of data delivery work by implementing team goals through a highly dynamic, fast-paced solution development process. You will be accountable for the quality of service delivery by practicing SunLife Agile standards, facilitating Kanban/Scrum ceremonies, and will shield the team from external distractions. Anchoring the end-to-end technical solution delivery is how you will add great value.

**What will you do?**
- Own end-to-end solution delivery. Accountable for project intake, estimation and resource planning to ensure on-time deliveries, on budget and with required quality.
- Establish project structure and reporting relationships, ensure that team members understand the project goals and his/her role and responsibilities, encourage good working relationships among all project within the team, and motivate and resolve conflicts between individual team members.
- Work closely with the Architect and the Delivery Director during the concept phase, defining delivery approach, methodology, planning etc.
- Assume accountability for the technical leadership from initiation to implementation. Ensure that a sound and future proof architecture is planned and its implementation meets the technical quality standards.
- Ensure that appropriate organization, governance, decision making, and delivery structures are in place to drive outcomes articulated in the business case, CBA, business requirements, and program/project charter.
- Contribute ideas for best practice improvements, process improvement, and innovative solutions.
- Become a member of the Data & Analytics thought leadership team, recommending solutions and products to our business partners aligned to the D&A strategy and roadmap.
- Identify, manage, and help mitigate issues and risks, with particular emphasis on timely removal of impediments for the team and/or directing obstacles to appropriate owners for quick resolution.

**What will you need to succeed and achieve competitive advantages?**
- University degree in computer science, data science or related technology degree/diploma. Equivalent experience is also acceptable.
- 5+ years of experience as delivery manager in data-related projects or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experiences working in projects related to data pipelining using ETL tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, GLUE etc.
- 3+ years of experience in agile delivery or strong familiarity working in Agile and Kanban environments.
- 3+ years of IT project management experience [ideally in data services] or strong familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Understanding or hands-on experience in an AWS Cloud Computing environment.
- Experience in facilitating Agile ceremonies, tracking team level metrics, and removing blockers.
- Knowledge of ETL/data pipeline work and Data Engineering concepts.
- Ability to describe complex concepts and put them into action.
- Ability to lead small, medium and large project teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated ability to solve business problems through data driven methodologies.
- Ability to liaison between different business units and tech teams in order to plan and deliver complex projects with multiple moving pieces.
- Passion for data and analytics as a career and a willingness to constantly self-educate to stay relevant and keep track of trends in the data space.

**Preferred/Nice to have**:

- Advanced knowledge of Kanban, Agile theory, methodology, practices, estimating/sizing, planning, forecasting, reporting, conflict resolution and facilitation will add great value to the role.
- Understanding of executing projects following the data science life cycle will be an added advantage.
