**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Liquid Asphalt Strategy Manager to join our dynamic team supporting the North America Liquid Asphalt strategy in Canada and the US. As the Liquid Asphalt Strategy Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the sourcing, procurement, and supply chain management of liquid asphalt products. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in optimizing and managing rail and barge logistics within Canada and the US for liquid asphalt. You will also play a key role in developing a refinery-based supply network in Canada and the US for liquid asphalt. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, strong negotiation abilities, and a deep understanding of supply chain management principles. Competency requirements include business and financial acumen, customer focus, drive for results, strategic agility and building effective teams.

**Key Responsibilities**

Liquid Asphalt Strategy:

- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure a reliable supply of high-quality liquid asphalt materials across CRH Canada and US operations.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate favorable contracts.
- Support relationship management with suppliers, monitor performance, and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in North America, including engineering, operations, and quality control, to align procurement activities with organizational objectives.
- Analyze market trends in North America to gauge pricing fluctuations, and supply chain risks to mitigate potential disruptions and optimize procurement processes.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier information.

Logistics Strategy:

- Develop and implement logistics strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation and delivery of liquid asphalt materials across CRH Canada and US operations.
- Consult on management of transportation providers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics partners to secure reliable and efficient transportation services.
- Consult on optimization of shipping routes, modes of transportation, and load consolidation to minimize costs and maximize efficiency for CRH North American operations in Canada and the US.
- Review shipment schedules to ensure on-time delivery and consult on the resolution of any logistics-related issues or delays.
- Ensure teams are maintaining accurate documentation of shipping and logistics activities, including customs requirements, bills of lading, and import/export regulations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings within the logistics strategy.

Supplier Relationship Management:

- Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure reliable supply.
- Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations, address any performance gaps, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Monitor supplier compliance with contractual terms, quality standards, and delivery schedules by leveraging the CRH North American liquid asphalt scope of operations.
- Collaborate with suppliers to identify and implement process improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and sustainable practices.

Risk Management:

- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks across North American operations, such as raw material shortages, price fluctuations, and transportation disruptions.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact liquid asphalt procurement and logistics operations.
- Consult on contingency plans to address potential disruptions and ensure business continuity.
- Promote a safe working culture for all liquid asphalt terminal operations across CRH North America.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Education**
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.

**Experience**
- Proven experience in liquid asphalt procurement and supply chain management, preferably in the construction or asphalt industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and logistics partners.
