Brand Ambassador

**Brand Ambassador - Summer Student Position (Full-Time, 8-week contract; May 13 - July 5)**

**Social Media Specialist/Brand Ambassador**
- At Durham Youth Services (DYS), we partner with youth to achieve and maintain lasting solutions to their housing crisis, in pursuit of our vision to end youth homelessness in Durham Region. Our Social Media Specialist/Brand Ambassador will work with the DYS Administrative Coordinator to raise awareness for Durham Youth Services programs and services within our local community.
- Primarily working remotely from a home-office environment, the student will be provided with a social media calendar, some key messaging, and a brand guidebook. They will create a library of social media posts that align to the calendar, appropriate to a variety of channels (Facebook, Instagram, twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok) that DYS will use for publication throughout the year.
- The student will create an execute social media campaigns increasing awareness of issues surrounding youth homelessness.
- Durham Youth Services also participates in a number of events (i.e. Ribfest, Pride, etc.) throughout the course of the summer. The Social Media Specialist/ Brand Ambassador, will attend events as requested, delivering key messages and answering questions to raise awareness about the programs and services offered by Durham Youth Services.
- During the month of June, three Home Depot stores in Durham Region will be working to raise money on behalf of DYS. The Social Media Specialist/Brand Ambassador will develop and execute a social media campaign raising awareness throughout the campaign, and will visit each of these stores weekly through the month of June, supporting and thanking Store Associates, intercepting consumers and raising awareness about the Home Depot Orange Door Project, and the way that their donations make a difference to youth experiencing homelessness in Durham Region.

Contract length: 8 weeks

Pay: $16.55 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
