Open to first year post-professional graduate urban design students this studio has its focus on the urban design issues related to intensification of the fabric of the existing city. The studio concentrates, contemporary approaches to the relationship between urban design, heritage and the public realm with respect to the physical evolution and design and implementation of the built environment. The studio draws on input from a wide range of local and international professionals practicing in urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, heritage preservation and urban history in order to offer students opportunities to work on projects that touch on contemporary city building questions.

L0101 - Tuesday 9:00am - 12:00pm, 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm & Friday 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

**Sessional dates of appointment**: January 1, 2024 - April 30, 2024

**Estimate of the course enrolment**: Approximately 8 students per section

**Salary**:Sessional Lecturer I - $9,457.90; Sessional Lecturer I Long Term - $9,930.79; Sessional Lecturer II - $10,121.77; Sessional Lecturer II Long Term - $10,326.62; Sessional Lecturer III - $10,362.76; Sessional Lecturer III Long Term - $10,570.02 (inclusive of vacation pay)

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

**Minimum Qualifications**:M.Arch or MLA with an MUD degree or professional urban design experience preferred. We are seeking applicants with a proven record of teaching urban design studios at the graduate level. A Knowledge of contemporary urban design pedagogy and the current state of the discipline is desirable.

**Preferred Qualifications**:Experience in Urban Design Practice in a Toronto/GTAH context.

**Description of Duties**: Preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials, supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations, and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions, and student contact hours.
