Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Accounting Clerk. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for assisting with various financial tasks and ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their accounting skills and gain experience in a professional setting.

**Duties**:
**Admin**:

- Key in or type up any documents or items that the accounting department is responsible for, including AR/AP billing, checks and invoices, new hire data etc.
- Organize office mail receiving and sending, mail or courier checks to both other businesses and employees
- Assist senior accounting personnel with any tasks conducted within the accounting department, or any tasks that require accounting personnel to take part
- Supporting supervisory and executive staff by performing any assigned accounting and clerical tasks
- Petty cash management
- Take care of company phone calls and inquiries
- Keep a thorough record of business transactions and enter data from daily work logs into the company’s general ledger system, and filing documents

**AR**:

- Make bank deposit and take credit card payment through phone calls
- Verify and investigate payment discrepancies, if any, by reconciling customer accounts and communicate with operation department

**AP**:

- Process vendor/suppliers invoices/bills in a timely manner and take available discounts if any
- Manage company credit cards

**Payroll**:

- Handle accurate payroll in a timely manner, e.g. bi-weekly and semi-monthly, and send out pay stubs
- Answer all employees inquiries and help vacation payout requests
- Process employee reimbursement and verify with proper approval

Requirements include:

- Proven bookkeeping experience
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
- The ability to act responsibly and ethically when working with sensitive financial information, whether it’s information for the company or for individuals
- Solid communication skills, with proficiency in speaking and writing
- Strong people skills - a polite and professional demeanor when working with other companies, as well as consumers and coworkers
- The willingness and ability to comply with local, state, and federal financial regulations, as well as the regulations established by the company itself
- Be attentive to detail, thorough, possess a strong work ethic, and be professional and courteous when working with others

**Experience**:

- Previous experience working in an accounting or finance role preferred
- Proficiency in accounting software, specifically, Sage would be an asset
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

**Salary**: $24.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
