The Department of Consumer Protection and Government Services is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Postal Clerk within the Material Distribution Agency (MDA). MDA is the distribution centre with capabilities to meet mail, distribution, and shipping needs for a variety of products and services.

Conditions of Employment:

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must possess and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
- Must be able to stand, reach and squat for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 66 lbs.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment.
- Must be able to work in a warehouse environment.

Qualifications:
**Essential**:

- Experience performing duties involving data entry, scheduling/logistics, tracking, filing and/or inventory control.
- Experience providing superior customer service to the public.
- Experience performing physically demanding manual duties.
- Ability to work with sensitive documentation and information in a confidential and professional manner.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to operate as part of a team and engage with a variety of stakeholders and clients.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.

**Desired**:

- Knowledge of computers and all machines used in mail operations (postage, shipping machines as well as the business manager and great plains computer systems).
- Experience with Canada Post standards, rates and delivery options.

**Duties**:
Reporting to the Team Lead the incumbent is responsible for all activities within the Mail Processing/IDM area under mínimal supervision. The incumbent is accountable for all functions within the mail sorting and metering area to ensure the day-to-day client demands are being met such as preparing mail bags for route delivery within the city as well as preparing and maintaining required records such as manifests, signature service records of inbound and outbound Interdepartmental mail and for the corresponding routes.
