**Position**:Speech and Language Pathologist 1.0 FTE (Temporary)

**Intent**:
Battle River School Division (Camrose, Alberta) is seeking the services of a Speech Language Pathologist. This 1.00 FTE position is to fill a leave, commencing mid October (the exact date is to be determined).

The Speech Language Pathologist under the direction and supervision of the Director of Inclusion, is responsible for the completion of professional activities which include; assessment, consultation, programming, reporting, SLPA supervision, education, and delivery of language services for early learning and school-age students, requiring Speech and Language Pathology Intervention. This individual will work in school settings supporting teachers with the development of plans and strategies to address student needs.

**Qualifications**:

- Master’s of Science in Speech Language Pathology
- Registered and in good standing with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA) and qualified to practice in Alberta

**Clinical Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the assessment of students, establishing ongoing evaluation and revision of language programs, including goals and discharge plans in accordance with professional standards
- Maintain accurate clinical records according to standards set by the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists
- Collaborate with other members of the Learning Team and school teams as required
- Communicate pertinent information and recommendations to school teams
- Provide education regarding universal classroom strategies
- Observe and evaluate the performance of those assisting in speech and language programming, and provide direction, guidance and coaching as necessary
- Work independently as well as part of an interdisciplinary team

**Successful Applicant Must**:

- Be eligible for Certification with Speech and Audiology Canada (SAC)
- Have experience, through internship or employment, in paediatric and school age speech and language pathology in either a health care or educational setting
- Have successful experience with supervision and supporting the growth and development of Speech Language Pathologist Assistants would be considered an asset
- Have experience, or familiarity, with AAC
- Maintain and ensure the standards of practice for speech language pathology are followed
- Possess excellent communication
- oral/written/pronunciation, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Have the ability to work both independently and as a team member of an interdisciplinary and school team
- Maintain a valid driver's license and be willing to travel to schools within the division

Pay: $75,778.00-$96,959.00 per year
