**Position Description**:
The **Professor, School of Hospitality & Tourism Management** is responsible for providing academic leadership and for developing an effective, learning-centered environment for students through the design and delivery of curriculum within the School of Hospitality & Tourism Management at George Brown. The professor will teach courses to students in all years at the degree/ diploma level, in the **Hospitality -Tourism & Hospitality Management Program (H130)** in addition to other degrees, diplomas and certificate level courses when required.

**Education / Certification / Designation**:

- PhD. Required in Tourism/Business or related field from an accredited educational institution.
- Current certifications or professional designations in the related field is an asset.

**Experience**:

- A minimum of 8 years business experience in a leading position in the areas of management, sales, economics, communications, and leadership are required.
- A minimum of 5 years teaching experience at a post-secondary level, incorporating active learning strategies in online, hybrid, flexible, and in-person classes.
- A history of scholarship and peer reviewed publications will be an asset.
- Prior post-secondary teaching training and experience in adult instructions techniques, and curriculum design experience will be preferred and will be applied in a variety of teaching and learning settings.

**Knowledge / Skills Set:
- A thorough knowledge of current trends in the Hospitality & Tourism Industry, with proven ability to teach the entry-level practitioner in the classroom and lab setting will be required. Academic leadership experience in a post-secondary program is an asset.
- Must have experience with advanced learning technology, including online delivery.
- Involvement in innovation and professional development related to teaching, use of technology, and student success.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and life-long learning.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to uphold the College’s priorities on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Areas of expertise will include Global Tourism Management, Global Business Strategies, Data Analytics, Communications, Hospitality/ Tourism Marketing, Project Management, Tourism Operations, Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Financial Management.

**Interview process will consist of a mock teaching experience and, in some cases, a practical skills component.**
