Oakville, Canada The Chartwell House Early Learning Centre Full time

We are looking for a special, creative, and fun educator join our growing team of educators in our designated GREEN SCHOOL. We are an early learning centre set on one acre of gorgeous tree covered property, the environment is always our third teacher in the classroom. We encourage creative planning and curriculum design to mirror the children's interests and highlight the teachers strengths and personal teaching philosophy. We are an early learning centre for children 15 months to 6 years of age with programs ranging from Toddlers, Preschoolers, and Kindergarten. While we do incorporate traditional learning opportunities, we specialize on educating the "whole" child.

We are looking for teachers with a passion for child development, and a strong ability to foster natural curiosity. We have a lot of extra curricular programs from outside specialists to help support the children's learning and create special experiences like weekly yoga, monthly live animal discovery, edible gardens, cookery, gross motor programs, karate, mindfulness, community visitors etc.

Our teaching team is encouraged to create their own plans to enhance the learning within their program, whether that be invite a visitor to the centre, request a field trip, or order special supplementary learning resources. The teachers are our guides and have the freedom and flexibility to create their own adventures for their early learners.

RECE preferred. Full time preferred. (Part time available for 1pm to 6pm only at the moment) Benefits/Paid sick days/Paid Vacation days/ and a beautiful heritage home work environment with fully furnished staff room and exceptional play ground to create lots of outdoor learning opportunities and classrooms. **Responsibilities**:

- Provide direct care to children ages 0-5 years old.
- Assist in the development of a positive relationship with the children, parents, and staff team.
- Participate in on-going training and professional development.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment that is consistent with the The Chartwell House Early Learning Centre mission and values culture, community, family, and literacy.
- Attend regular staff meetings, team building activities, parent communication meetings, and school events.
- Provide professional development in early childhood education and growth & development within the center.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- RECE preferred
- Education or experience working in a licensed center for children ages 0-5 years old.
- Must have a current CPR certification or be able to obtain one within 30 days of employment. (If you do not have one we will provide you with one.)
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. (If you do not have one we will provide you with one.)
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

**Salary**: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
