Hospitality Services (HS) at Western University is passionate about delivering superior quality in food, nutrition and service, and strives to support the over-all mission and goals of the University. Hospitality Services serves over 32,000 people on a daily basis through three distinct departments - Campus Operations, Residence Dining and Conference Services & Great Hall Catering. We have over 600 employees working in Hospitality Services providing our guests with a wide variety of options and choices to fulfill their diverse needs.

**Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Director of Hospitality Services, the Manager, Finance & Administration is responsible for providing oversight of financial and administrative processes for Hospitality Services to ensure adherence to relevant legislation, and University policies and procedures. The Manager, Finance & Administration provides effective management to ensure streamlined operation of all business processes related to payment processing for Hospitality Services and analyzes and works to improve business processes and procedures to increase efficiencies and minimize weaknesses in internal controls. The Manager will remain up to date on relevant legislation and ensure that processes, procedures and controls remain compliant, and risks are mitigated. The Manager is also involved in process automation and capital projects and is engaged in system testing and staff training. The Manager will oversee the accurate and timely processing of Accounts Payable invoices for all areas of Hospitality Services (e.g. Campus Operations, Residence Dining, Catering, Conference Services and Vending) and provides support, work coordination and leadership to the staff team while providing guidance and support to ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

**Qualifications**:

- Education:
- Undergraduate Degree in Accounting or Business Management/Administration
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation completed (preferred) or in progress with a combination of 10 years of professional accounting, business and finance experience
- Experience:
- 5 years' of financial accounting and managerial experience in a business office environment
- Experience managing staff and projects
- Experience in strategic planning, implementation and operationalization
- Previous experience in a food service environment is preferred
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of best practices for assessing, developing and implementing new business processes and procedures
- Solid understanding of key accounting principles, coupled with managing a large volume accounts payable department
- In-depth knowledge of best practices in building a strong collaborative team and leading people and of performance development methods
- Project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously from conception to completion within tightly prescribed timelines
- Negotiation and influencing skills to effectively advocate needs and maintain relationships
- Ability to effectively drive and manage change initiatives that align with organizational strategies and/or provide opportunities to increase efficiency
- Communication skills with the ability to converse with, write reports for, and deliver presentations to all levels of the organization
- Ability to ensure confidentiality and privacy is maintained through the appropriate retention and destruction of information
- Innovative and flexible critical thinking skills to adjust to and implement new processes or technology to the University’s advantage
- Ability to provide strategic analysis and recommendations for designing and implementing new and changing administrative and financial processes
- Ability to foster and leverage a strategic view to address complex business issues
- Decision making skills to provide solutions that are consistent with available facts, constraints and probable consequences
- Ability to analyze exposures and make recommendations to decrease financial risk
- Ability to quickly re-allocate resources and adjust priorities in response to unexpected events or changing circumstances
- Computer skills with the ability to train others in system usage
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and with large enterprise software systems (such as PeopleSoft)
