Position Summary:
The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for helping plan, execute, and deliver projects on time, and in accordance with specifications. To achieve these important goals, the Mechanical Supervisor will help define project requirements and scope, help acquire project resources, supervise the efforts of in-field team members, and sometimes take to the tools. Effective quality control and clear communication of expectations to the field staff, project, and senior management team are critical tasks that must be performed throughout each project’s lifecycle.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

- Provides day-to-day guidance and direction to others in the same department.
- Leads a crew in the performance of skilled operation, maintenance, repair, and installation work on Plumbing systems, including mechanical and plumbing systems.
- Reviews shop work orders for completeness, proper method and quality of accomplishment, and availability of materials both before and after work.
- Establishes unique work standards, and enforces commercial/industrial standards and priorities of work.
- Inspects work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, policies and regulations, and standards.
- Provides space, tools, test equipment, and materials for functional areas.
- Implements methods and procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Supports the project Safety Plan through personal involvement in all aspects of safety, including training and attention to the adherence to safety requirements pertaining to trades or skills.
- Ensures proper housekeeping practices are observed.
- Ensures the employees’ time records reflect an accurate record of hours worked
- Makes recommendations to the partners for long-range planning.
- Supports, implements (where applicable), and enforces all project and corporate procedures, plans, regulations, and rules.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Accountable For:

- Coordinating and directing the work of others.
- Working from blueprints, plans, and sketches; estimating materials and time needed to complete jobs; using hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of industry-standard HVAC/R codes and regulations.
- Communicating effectively orally and in writing.
- Completing all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.
- Timely and cost-effective performance of duties.
- Timely completion and accuracy of all departmental work.
- Ensuring compliance with company safety regulations.
- Dealing with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
- Adherence to established company safety policies and good industrial and office safety practices.
- Compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures and Personnel policies and procedures.
- Effectively coordinating several projects simultaneously.
- Having the ability to work well under pressure.
