Job Title: Daycare Coordinator

Location: Dover

Reports To: Executive Director/Board Chair

Job Summary: The Daycare Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the daycare center, ensuring the delivery of high-quality childcare services in line with the organization's mission and regulatory standards. The coordinator will manage staff, interact with parents, and ensure a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Management:

- Oversee daily operations of the daycare center, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote the safety, well-being, and development of children.
- Manage the center's budget, including monitoring expenses and revenue, and preparing financial reports.
- Sets short and long term goals for teaching staff.
- Keeps accurate files on employees, children, and activities.
- Conducts interviews and reviews the qualifications of all new staff before hiring the most qualified applicants for teaching, administrative, or support staff positions.
- Manages the work schedules of staff.

2. Staff Supervision and Development:

- Train and evaluate staff, ensuring they meet organizational standards and provide high-quality care.
- Provide ongoing professional development opportunities and support to staff members.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and performance reviews to foster a collaborative and effective work environment.

3. Program Development:

- Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programs and activities that meet the developmental needs of children.
- Implementation of Flight Curriculum
- Ensure the curriculum is aligned with current educational standards and best practices in early childhood education.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of programs and make necessary adjustments.

4. Work Environment:

- Time is spent in the daycare facility divided between desk work, supervision of staff and on ratio as needed.
- Must be able to take on classroom duties.
- Must be willing to spend long hours standing, walking, kneeling, and lifting no more than 30 pounds.

5. Parent and Community Relations:

- Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents, addressing their concerns and feedback promptly and professionally.
- Organize and facilitate parent meetings, workshops, and events to engage and support families.
- Familiarity with theories and practices of behavioral therapy, child development, and parent-child relationships.
- Represent the daycare center in the community and build partnerships with local organizations and schools.

6. Health, Safety, and Compliance:

- Ensure that the daycare center meets all health, safety, and licensing requirements.
- Implement and oversee emergency procedures and protocols.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of the facility to ensure a clean and safe environment.

7. Administrative Duties:

- Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, staff schedules, and other relevant documentation.
- Must have strong administrative and time management skills.
- Must possess excellent customer service.
- Must be professional and provide a public face for the childcare facility.
- Prepare and submit reports as required by regulatory agencies and organizational leadership.
- Manage the enrollment process, including communicating with prospective families and handling admissions paperwork.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Child Development Level 3.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and community partners.
- Proficiency in relevant software and technology for administrative tasks.
- Flight Curriculum is an asset.

Working Conditions:

- Full-time position.
- May involve occasional evenings or weekends for special events or meetings.
- Physical demands include the ability to lift children and materials, and to remain on feet for extended periods.

Pay: $4,000.00-$4,700.00 per month
