**Position Summary**

The Resident Care Worker assumes the supervision of the house during evenings, and/or weekend days.

**Qualifications**

Belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour is a requirement of this position.

¨ Ability to work independently.

¨ Demonstrates ability to foster an environment that supports client care

¨ Subscribes to the Mission Statement and policies of House of Hesed.

¨ Ability to work as part of a team.

¨ Self-motivated (recognizes a job needed doing and does it).

¨ Demonstrated interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication abilities.

¨ Knowledge of Universal Precautions.

¨ CPR/First Aid Course required.

¨ Criminal Record Search Certificate with Vulnerable Sector screening.

¨ Respect, adhere & represent the House of Hesed code of conduct.

¨ Is willing to cover other shifts when necessary

**Job Description** **(responsibilities)**

**House administration**

¨ Cleaning of all common areas and office spaces within the house

¨ Meal and snack preparation/cleanup

¨ Weekly menu coordination

¨ Food preparation for next day

¨ Meal cleanup, and other cleaning duties according to task/cleaning schedules

¨ Chore/tasks as assigned

**Resident administration**

¨ Gives morning/evening and PRN medications

¨ General physical care of residents requiring assistance

¨ Updates log books

**Spiritual and Faith Based duties**

¨ Ability to lead and or participate in Bible study groups with residents, staff and volunteers who wish to attend.

¨ Ability to lead and participate in group and/or individual prayer with residents, staff and volunteers

¨ Ability to share and discuss Christian faith values, principles and doctrine

¨ Must be willing to say Grace before meals

**EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS**

1. Salary will be administered on a bi-weekly basis.

2. There will be a 1 month probation period from start date of employment.

3. This is a minimum of a one year commitment from start date of employment.

5. Resignation requires 2 week written notice.

6. Attends staff meeting and workshops.

7. Complaints or grievances will be discussed with the Operations Manager with the goal of resolving the problem within a five day period from notification of the problem.

8. In the event that a resolution cannot be reached with the Operations Manager, further discussion of the grievance or complaint will be held with the Executive Director with the inclusion of a member of the Board of Directors. This decision will be considered final.

9. Work hours: Mon. 4pm-11pm, Tue. 4pm-11pm, Wed. 4pm-11pm

10. Start salary is $12.00

**Salary**: From $13.50 per hour
