**Job Summary**
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Consultation and Education: Review patients’ medical and dental history, explain treatment options, and provide clear, detailed explanations of proposed treatments to patients. Address patient concerns, answer questions, and ensure they understand their treatment options and financial responsibilities.
- Treatment Plan Coordination: Work closely with the dentist and clinical team to develop personalized treatment plans. Help patients understand the recommended treatments and the timeline for completion. Ensure all necessary diagnostic records and paperwork are collected.
- Insurance Verification and Billing: Assist patients in navigating their dental insurance benefits, verifying coverage, and helping to maximize insurance reimbursements. Submit insurance claims, track approvals, and follow up on outstanding claims.
- Scheduling and Follow-up: Schedule patient appointments based on treatment needs and patient preferences, ensuring efficient use of clinical time. Follow up with patients regarding upcoming treatments, appointments, and necessary preparations.
- Financial Management: Present financial estimates and payment options to patients, including discussing financing options, co-pays, and payment plans. Help patients understand their financial obligations and assist with billing-related questions.
- Patient Retention and Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with patients through excellent customer service. Ensure that patients feel supported, informed, and comfortable throughout their treatment process. Provide ongoing support and ensure patient satisfaction with care.
- Administrative Support: Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment notes, insurance information, and financial transactions. Help manage patient flow and ensure all documents are processed in a timely manner.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other dental staff, including dentists, hygienists, and office administrators, to ensure smooth operations and an exceptional patient experience. Participate in regular team meetings to discuss treatment goals and practice growth.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a dental office, with a strong understanding of dental procedures, treatment plans, and insurance processes.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to explain complex treatment options clearly and compassionately to patients. Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with patients.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and organizational abilities to handle multiple patients and tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of Dental Software: Proficiency with dental management software (e.g., Open Dental) and general office software (e.g., google docs, google sheet, google drive).
- Problem-Solving: Ability to address patient concerns, handle objections, and resolve issues related to treatment plans, billing, and insurance in a professional manner.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy in managing patient records, treatment plans, and insurance details to ensure smooth operations and prevent errors.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a high-volume or fast-paced dental office environment.
