**Location** - Enterprise Square. This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in person

**Department summary**

The goal of Information Services is to provide exceptional Advancement systems support, business process management and design, automated reporting solutions and data delivery for the Development and Alumni offices within External Relations. Information Services supports the strategic planning and operational effectiveness of all alumni relations functions as well as key fundraising programs including the annual fund, major gift and planned giving, alumni engagement programs, prospect management and research as well as major fundraising campaigns

**Position summary**

Reporting to the Manager, Information Services in the Office of Advancement Services, the Data Analytics Program Lead (DAPL) will be responsible for developing and implementing an integrated reporting and data analytics program that will support the strategic and operational needs of Development and Alumni Relations within the External Relations portfolio.

The DAPL manages a program, which includes all aspects of data analytics and data science including descriptive analytics, diagnostic analytics, predictive analytics and prescriptive analytics.

The DAPL works in a fast-paced dynamic work environment where the ability to provide reporting data quickly, clearly and with accuracy is paramount. The incumbent is responsible for the development and creation of all fundraising metrics and related performance reports to the University’s senior leadership. The DAPL also supports senior leadership by providing data from ad hoc requests, participating in vital benchmarking studies, and creating forecasting and financial models. The DAPL is a trusted advisor, working with highly sensitive and confidential information and is often looked upon by Executive Leadership for data guidance and reliable expertise

**Duties**
- Responsible for managing a small team of analytics professionals.
- Complete operations by assigning and monitoring work completed by the analytics team and providing real time feedback on staff performance.
- Develop, maintain, enhance and oversee a comprehensive analytics program, providing data-driven intelligence to aid in determining University-wide and program fundraising goals.
- Manage the data sources and reporting databases required to perform data analytics, ensuring adherence to data definitions and efficient data performance.
- Develop and produce regular reports for senior leadership in order to monitor and review performance measures engagement strategies.
- Direct, develop and validate statistical/financial models for forecasting fundraising progress and alumni engagement using historical trend data and information from industry peers.
- Collect, collate and analyze complex data sets to participate in ongoing peer benchmarking studies on a variety of aspects in fundraising and alumni relations.
- Develop quarterly and annual reporting and analyses for the Board of Governors, President’s Executive Committee, Provost Office, and any other governing bodies as required.
- The DAPL is responsible for seeing reports/dashboards through the development phases of the iterative reports/dashboard life cycle to produce elegant automated solutions that are visually appealing and easy to understand.
- Direct activities to gather, filter and segment large data sets for the purposes of identifying, classifying and refining rated prospect lists and pools for fundraising activities. Identify overall trends and patterns in giving, volunteerism, event participation, etc. and search for explanations and underlying causes.
- Responsible for all data requests within the portfolio that may involve the publication of statistics or figures.
- Use various software tools (such as Excel, SPSS, etc.) and techniques (regression, RFM analysis, cross-tabulation, pivotal table analysis etc.) to analyze and present the data analysis.
- Develop and validate statistical models for forecasting fundraising progress and alumni engagement using historical trend data and information from industry peers.
- Actively seek 3rd party data (publicly sourced or otherwise) to support data modelling and donor profile for internal clients.
- Supporting constituent research, data mining and modeling activities to determine trends and provide hypothesis testing of patterns in alumni and donor behavior, identifying and forecasting growth opportunities and addressing challenges.
