As an alternative to public schools, independent schools, and home schooling, Pivot Point’s Community Classrooms create a safe and effective Distributed Learning space throughout the school year.

Our very small class sizes optimize one-to-one and small group teaching opportunities allowing focus on critical skills such as: literacy and communication. Carefully crafted classroom environments, learning materials, and curriculum promote each child’s academic learning potential while also allowing students to develop self-regulation, social, and practical life skills

MUST have experience serving individuals with Autism and other Diverse Abilities, be well versed in ABA and Mental Health approaches, and have experience working in classrooms or academic settings.

MUST be professionally polished, have a dynamic personality, be able to develop and implement lesson plans and lead a classroom of 5 to 10 students and support staff.

MUST be able to commit to a full school year (September 1 to June 30) and to supporting the evolving enrollment to meet student and family needs.

MUST have values that align with ourslike having a perpetually positive personality that enjoys variety, challenges, and meeting each student where they’re at.

**Details of this position**:

- Position from September 1st, 2023 - June 30th, 2024
- Monday to Friday 40 hours a week
- Must commit to the 10 Month Term
- Salary with the option of benefits
- Behavioral supports included
- IEP and curriculum support provided through Online Learning schools
- Working in unique "pods" of 3 to 5 students per instructor throughout the school year
- Weekly check-in’s with the OL ( Distributed Learning)
- Development of daily class plans and lessons

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Lead Instructor is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing (or overseeing the implementation of) an appropriate instructional program in an elementary or secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
- Provide appropriate feedback on each student’s work, progress and needs to individual students, their families, and their designated Learning Support Teacher.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use that information to adjust teaching strategies.

**Qualifications**:

- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others, including DL’s and their Learning Support Teachers.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both orally and in writing, in a timely manner.
- Ability to use Google docs, sheets, slides as well as several other common technology platforms.
- Have a reliable vehicle and a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (Driver's Abstract will be required).
- Have an Emergency First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain one.
- Languages an asset

**Salary**: $34,000.00-$48,000.00 per year
