**A Day in the Life
**MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB**
- The In-House Repair Rep is responsible for performing repairs, upgrades, calibration and preventive maintenance as per Medtronic SOP’s and manuals on customer and Medtronic owned devices.

**MAIN JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (may include the following and other duties may be assigned)**:

- _Performs in-house servicing and repair of company products at established company repair site or service center. _
- _Diagnoses mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures using established procedures. _
- _Performs maintenance, testing and calibration of repaired products. _
- _Prepares reports for analysis of product failure trends and service ability issues. _
- _May communicate with field-based technicians for details helpful to failure diagnostics or repair, but generally without direct client contact. _
- _Responsible for reporting complaints and Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR)**CAREER STREAM**:

- Provides technical support in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement or product development. Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures, and performs detailed mathematical calculations. For higher levels, may suggest and/or make improvements to optimize work processes.**DIFFERENTIATING FACTORS**:
**_Autonomy _**_: Seasoned individual contributor, working under limited supervision, and providing assistance and training to lower level employees. Runs minor projects, including performing tests, interpreting data, developing reports. _

**_Organizational Impact _**_: Performs technical activities requiring considerable judgment and may have ownership of minor projects. Work consists of technical tasks that are typically not routine. _

**_Innovation and Complexity _**_: Technical problems faced are general and may require some analysis to understand and resolve. Expected to independently propose solutions to problems for supervisor review. _

**_Communication and Influence _**_: Communicates typically with internal contacts. Obtains and provides technical information on matters of moderate importance to the job area. _

**_Leadership and Talent Management _**_: Responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area. _

**_Required Knowledge and Experience _**_: Requires complete and broad knowledge of operational systems, techniques and practices typically gained through extensive experience and/or education. Requires minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience. _

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum of 4 years of experience of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience

**DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
**KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION**

May require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.

Post secondary education in electronics or biomedical engineering would be an asset

**JOB EXPERIENCE**
- Experience working in a hospital environment or medical device company

**SKILLS/COMPETENCIES**
- Proficient in troubleshooting, critical thinking, communication skills written and verbal
