Network Operations Technician Ii

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Coordinate activities with team members to accomplish and complete jobs efficiently.
- Complete records and other related paperwork as required.
- Adhere to all network privacy and security protocols.
- Answer customer support calls professionally.
- Collect information from customers and forward to appropriate Department.
- Diagnose, resolve, or escalate technical issues using various software tools.
- Document support requests in ticketing system.
- Assist field technicians with in-house support requests.
- Monitor network services and act when alerts come in.
- Verify NOC inventory such that it is ready for dispatch.
- Ensure all VCCL equipment is properly labelled.
- Provision and label network equipment for deployment.
- Update firmware, adjust configuration, and verify functionality of client equipment deployed in the field.
- Notify clients regarding the status of significant issues.
- Evaluate potential client sites using path profiling software.
- Submit dispatch requests for issues that cannot be resolved remotely.
- Mentorship of fellow team members.
- Engage third party vendors for support, licensing, and Return Material Authorizations (RMAs).
- Review and approve or deny third party requests to access VCCL infrastructure.
- Assist NOC personnel as needed.
- Be available outside of business hours on an on-call basis.
**Required Skills, Experience, and Education**:
- Technology degree or diploma an asset.
- Advanced understanding of computer and network fundamentals.
- Basic experience with radio and microwave frequencies.
- Must be able to safely lift 30 lbs.
- Basic understanding and safe use of hand tools.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Reliable and dependable.
**What Do We Have To Offer?**
- Compensation will be based on a combination of experience and education. Salary rate ranges between $50,000.00 /annually - $70,000.00 /annually.
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, rotating on-call schedule
- Participation in the Family Extended Health Benefits program after completion of 90-day probationary period.
- RRSP matching after 1 year of cntinous employment.
Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
