**What you'll do:
As a Manager, Cloud Automation your key area of responsibility will be steering a team in developing and sustaining robust Terraform modules and automation tools for efficient cloud infrastructure management. You will champion the maintenance of a cohesive platform for Kubernetes workloads, ensuring adherence to best practices in security and configuration management. You will work with a strategic mindset and a commitment to mentoring engineers and uphold high standards in automation that drive the company's cloud strategy forward.
**How you'll make an impact
- Develop and drive the strategic vision for Geotab’s cloud native platform, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and operational requirements.
- Direct and manage cloud automation projects; ensure the development and implementation of robust, scalable infrastructure as code with the assigned team that meets operational and business requirements.
- Align to business goals and manage the team with regards to task assignments, work arrangements and other Cloud Automation Engineering Department expectations.
- Ensure work progress stays on schedule and updates stakeholders on project status.
- Install, manage, measure and change an Agile development process, e.g., SCRUM, Kanban.
- Conduct comprehensive testing and code reviews to ensure that code quality is maximized and best-practices are followed.
- Lead and participate in development of prototypes, minimum viable products and PoCs.
- Appropriately document system design and architecture such that it is easy to understand, maintain and extend.
- Provide expert leadership and guidance to the team as an SME.
- Manage team capacity and plan for future growth, ensuring the team is adequately resourced to meet current and future project demands.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies and trends, and assess their applicability to the organization's infrastructure.
- Provide oversight and direction to the employees on the team in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
- Oversee the activities and performance of direct reports:

- Provide direction, coaching and mentorship to the team.
- Engage in the development of the team by coaching, providing feedback, identifying areas of growth and training opportunities.
- Collaborate and support employees during the performance management process, meeting KPAs and career development planning.
- Support Geotab global strategic initiatives.
- Create a workplace culture that is consistent with Geotab’s mission, vision, and values.
**What you'll bring to the role
- 8 - 10 years of required previous experience in the following areas:

- Experience as a DevOps Engineer or Software Developer using infrastructure as code to build, configure and maintain production environments in a public cloud environment.
- Experience working with multiple public cloud environments such as GCP, AWS, and Azure. Familiarity with VM, Networking, IAM, Database, and Container orchestration products across public cloud providers.
- Experience running infrastructure as code across large scale production environments, utilizing common provisioning tools and methodologies such as Terraform, GitOps, and CI/CD
- Proficiency in Git, or some other distributed source control tool, and are comfortable with resolving merge conflicts and renaming branches, etc.
- 3 - 5 years of required leadership experience managing a DevOps or Software Development team tasked with building and maintaining infrastructure at scale on a public cloud provider
