**Job Summary**

Stony Plain Sharks are a well established summer swim club located at the outdoor pool in Stony Plain AB. The Sharks have approximately 85-110 swimmers ranging from developing swimmers to provincial level medalists. The Stony Plain Sharks value competitive growth, fitness fun and friendship. The Sharks executive team and parents are highly committed and active with supporting the activities of the club to ensure positive swimming experiences for all involved

Swim practices run from early May to mid August in two sessions Monday-Friday, 445-7pm. During July and August older swimmers will train Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday am for one hour with one designated coach. Sharks participate in weekend swim meets as well as Regional and Provincial competitions in Region B of the Alberta Summer Swim Association.

**The Stony Plain Sharks are looking to hire a Head Coach **for the 2024 season that is skilled, energetic, and motivated individuals who can empower swimmers in conjunction with the executive team and the rest of the coaching team.

**Requirements**:

- NCCP Swimming 101 and member of ASSA/CSCTA
- NCCP Swimming 201 Certificate or working towards completion preferred
- NLS current 2024 swim season and First Aid Certification preferred
- Clear Criminal Background (includes Vulnerable Social Sector) and Social Welfare background check
- Strong technical swimming knowledge
- Solid leadership, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to create and implement a competitive swim program for various skill levels
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to maintain positive relationships with Assistant Coaches, swimmers, families, executive team and the public
- Outgoing, energetic, and dedicated
- Ability to work collaboratively with planning events, activities and travel
- Previous coaching experience as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach is preferable

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Coordination, supervision, and coaching of swimmers for training and competitions in conjunction with the other coaches.
- Provide swimmers, guardians, coaches, and executive team with timely feedback as appropriate and mitigate when necessary
- Involvement in planning and participating in club activities pertaining to team spirit, team building, dryland training, and games/fitness
- Report to executive team
- Organize year end awards in collaboration with assistant coaches and executive
- Strive to lead the recruitment and retention of swimmers within the club
- Continued development and support of our Junior Coaching program

**Job Types**: Part-time, Seasonal

**Salary**: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 20 per week
