**Job Summary**
The Accounting Technician is responsible for executing various financial, administrative, and operational tasks to support efficient business operations and financial accuracy. Reporting to the Controller, this role involves accounting duties and operations support, including KPI data entry and analysis to aid data-driven decision-making.
- **Accounting Duties**_
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including coding, distributing for approval, entering data into in-house accounting software, and conducting cheque runs.
- Reconcile accounts payable statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Perform SK PST self-assessment by reviewing invoices and updating relevant spreadsheets.
- Prepare GST filings as required.
- Generate invoices based on purchase orders.
- Organize and file invoices, payment receipts, and cheques for record-keeping and auditing purposes.
- Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies and maintain positive relationships.
- Record cheques received and perform weekly bank deposits.
- Update staff sales records and process invoicing accurately.
- Support sales order processing and data entry as needed (backup).
- Allocate cash receipts appropriately to ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Complete warehouse transfer entries as required.
- Create and post journal entries during period end.
- Assist in preparing working papers and reconciliations for reporting and audit purposes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Controller.
- **Operations & KPI Data Management**_
- Enter and maintain Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data to support business operations.
- Conduct periodic analysis of KPI data, identifying trends and variances to provide actionable insights.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure data accuracy and timely reporting of operational metrics.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly KPI reports for management review.
- Maintain data integrity within relevant databases and spreadsheets, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Support process improvement initiatives related to KPI tracking and data management.

**Qualifications & Skills**

1. Minimum of 3 years of experience in administrative/accounting support roles.

2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with advanced skills in data manipulation and analysis.

3. Experience with accounting software, including multi-ledger systems, is a strong asset.

4. Familiarity with the Manufacturing/Distribution industry is advantageous.

5. Effective written and oral communication skills, with a professional approach to vendor and team interactions.

6. Strong multitasking abilities, with proven skills in setting and achieving priorities and meeting deadlines.

7. Highly organized, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.

8. Ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively to a team environment.

9. Demonstrates initiative, direction, and responsibility, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Pay: $50,000.00-$57,000.00 per year
