ENVIRONMENTAL RECLAMATION SPECIALIST
- Conducting detailed site assessments specifically in soil assessments and vegetation identification.
- Managing site draining and implementing soil erosion control measures.
- Contributing to reclamation planning and permitting, including preparing conceptual reclamation plans, reclamation and closure plans, and five-year plans.
- Planning and implementing reclamation research, monitoring and operational reclamation programs on disturbance areas.
- Advising employees, stakeholders and public audiences about environmental management, reclamation, or conservation efforts.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment, including working with colleagues in different geographic regions.
- Self-motivated, high energy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage time and multiple projects appropriately.
- Proficient at conducting and managing Detailed Site Assessments using 2010 Reclamation Criteria, Schedule B assessments, advanced capability in vegetation identification, noxious weed surveys, good understanding of upstream O&G and mining regulations in Alberta and British Columbia.
- Proficient understanding of Canadian System of Soil Classification.
- Ability to interpret analytical data to identify trends, significant changes from historical patterns, deviations, or evidence of environmental stresses, etc.
- Strong ability to write and review technical reports to support the Reclamation Certificate processes.
- Strong ability to communicate results of assessments to stakeholders such as property owners, responsible party, regulators, the public, etc. via a public consultation or other appropriate communication process.

**Requirements**:

- Diploma or Degree in the fields of Engineering, Agriculture Science, Agrology, Forestry, Biology, Geology or Environmental Sciences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language.

- Minimum of 5 years of environmental consulting experience with 3+ years of progressive experience encompassing project planning, coordinating and project management with strong emphasis in reclamation and ecological restoration. Contaminated site assessment and remediation experience will be considered an asset.

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
