Temporary Payroll Specialist

**Reporting to the Administrator of Payroll Services, The Payroll Specialist (Temporary) will be responsible for efficient and effective functioning of Payroll Services.**

**WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT**:
- Prepare, input, and verify payroll and pension submissions
- Prepare cheque requisitions with appropriate supporting documentation.
- Performs various accounting functions
- Liaison with pension plans, Revenue Canada, Service Canada, Family Support Office, Union representative, various school board departments and employees
- Prepares summary reports required to verify and audit the payroll records as required for internal and external auditors
- Assist in the operations of the department under of the direction of the Administrator of Payroll Services
**WHAT YOU BRING**:
- Certificate from the Canadian Payroll association, Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) and/or 2 years College Diploma in Accounting/Finance (preference for both)
- Experience in payroll processing (K212 HRP is an asset) and pension reporting (OMERS, TPP)
- Excellent organization skills and ability to work in a busy environment under many strict deadlines
- Ability to check and/or verify the work of others
- Ability to communicate effectively and work under minimum supervision
- Experience in database administration, Microsoft, Excel, and Word
This is a full time, temporary position.
**HOURS**:Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m.
**LOCATION**:Catholic Education Centre, Welland, ON
**SALARY RANGE: $63,815.70 - $70,906.30**
**Salary**: $63,815.70-$70,906.30 per year
