Windsor, Canada CUPE 543 Full time

**Office Administration/Clerical Work**

This position will be fulltime at 33.75 hours per week for three (3) months. Afterwards it may transition to a backfill position and/or part-time position.

**Duties**
- Provides a full range of administrative duties to the President and Executive Board.
- Responsible for a high level of secretarial and support services.
- Maintains filing system including confidential files.
- Communicates regularly with the sub-local employers’ Human Resources Department, CUPE Local 543’s legal representative, other unions, union members, and CUPE Local 543 affiliates.
- Scans, faxes, and photocopies documents.
- Processes grievances.
- Tracks grievances using the “Grievance” book.
- Answers telephone, directs calls, and takes messages.
- Logs received cheques in the “Accounts Receivable” binder.
- Maintains General Membership meeting minutes and Executive Board meeting minutes in a binder.
- Receives and distributes mail for the Local’s tenants.
- Files/distributes received correspondence/mail/E-mail for the Local.
- Schedules and coordinates meetings of Executive Officers.
- Tracks and sells tickets and/or collects money for various events.
- Types correspondence and prepares/distributes meeting agendas. Note that proofreading and typing documents are regular duty if this position.
- Assesses routine problems of an administrative nature.
- Maintain amiable relationship with the membership, staff, and Board Officers.
- Tracks office supply inventory.
- Books meetings and tracks availability of the conference room and meeting hall.
- Follows/Complies with all policies and procedures set out by the Local.
- Perform other related duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in office administration is required.
- Three (3) years experience working in an office environment preferred.
- Organisational skills a must.
- Skilled in using the Microsoft Suite of products and Adobe a must.
- Typing at least 50 words per minute required.
- Friendly approach, with a focus on customer (member) service is required.

**At the discretion of the Employer, these duties may be shared/assigned to others from time to time.**

**Salary**: $28.08 per hour
