The **Agricultural Specialist** is responsible for the enhancement, support and promotion of economic well-being and growth of the agriculture, agri-business and food sector in our municipality in accordance with the recommendations of the North Perth Agricultural Excellence Goals. This position acts as a liaison and navigator between the municipality, government bodies, community groups, businesses, and individuals.
- A Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma certificate in related field (ex. agriculture business, agriculture, planning).
- 3 years of experience in related position. Municipal experience would be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and proven skills in word processing, spreadsheet, communications, and presentations software packages, including demonstrated knowledge of website maintenance and social media platforms.
- Well-developed research and analytical skills.
- Effective facilitation, marketing, and presentation skills for diverse groups.
- Experience in working with the agricultural industry.
- Strong knowledge of Federal, Provincial, and Municipal statues, by-laws and regulations governing business activities.
- Ability to deal with employees and public with tact and discretion.
- Excellent customer service orientation and skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Valid Ontario G Driver’s License.

The salary range for this position is $31.20 - $39.00 per hour based upon a 35-hour work week. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and includes a comprehensive benefits and pension plan.
