**Department Overview**

Business Banking Governance & Control Change Oversight team acts as the 1st Line of Defense (1B) and works with Control Partners to ensure an appropriate delivery framework has been implemented within Business Banking which is designed to mitigate operational and regulatory risk effectively and proactively.

The team manages change initiatives across Commercial and Small Business Banking and act in compliance with the Change Governance Framework & Standard which includes but is not limited to:

- Review intake of changes to ensure appropriate methodology is applied.
- Review and approve risk assessments (as applicable), ensuring appropriate risk management and Control Partners (2A) are engaged.
- Review reporting to assess risk and exposure to the businesses we support (as applicable).
- Support Post Implementation Reviews (PIR) as required.
- In compliance with Business Change Review (BCR) Program for change initiatives delivered as projects, participate (as appropriate) in key project activities and oversight/governance committees.

As **Governance and Control Specialist**, you will:

- Act as Risk Oversight SME for the initiatives assigned by providing awareness, identifying risks and issues, engaging partners and anticipate upcoming risk/control processes
- Provide direction to complex, wide-ranging issues associated with the execution of Business Banking changes and ensure the correct Control Partners are engaged so risks are understood and mitigated in a timely manner
- Develop and document a comprehensive inventory of processes and controls with clearly defined owners and roles and responsibilities for each process and control
- Exercise discretion in managing communication / correspondence, information, and all matters of confidentiality
- Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams and functions
- Participate as a member of the team, support a positive work environment, and ensure timely communication
- Provide leadership as a Subject Matter Expert and participate in knowledge transfer within the team / business unit
- Keep current on emerging trends / developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools, and techniques

**Job Requirements**
- Highly skilled Risk Management professional who is experienced in collaborating with all Lines of Defense
- Strong communications skills and organizational awareness to communicate difficult concepts, coordinate effectively with increasingly senior shareholders and integrate work with other areas
- Expert knowledge of program/project processes, procedures, tools and technologies and agile methodology
- Knowledge of Banking products, processes, policies and procedures, and the associated control environment
- A dynamic leader with robust organizational and team management skills to work with a team and handle multiple priorities a fast-paced environment
- Seasoned professional with over 7 years of relevant experience
- Undergraduate degree is an asset
