Weaver Group has the following long-term, on-site position available, in the Northern Saskatchewan region (commencing May 24, 2023)**:FIELD SAFETY ASSISTANT**

**Job description**:
The Safety Administrative Assistant will carry out the project day to day reporting, inspection and audit duties, under the direction of the HSE Coordinator. Working knowledge of the safety regulatory requirements within the province of Saskatchewan is required. Leading incident investigations, hazard assessments, site inspections and observations, preparing reports, promoting a safe work environment, conduct orientations, toolbox talks and safety meetings.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum - NCSO with 3 years in a health and safety related position in the oil & gas or mining sectors.
- Current CSO (Common Safety Orientation).
- Current Standard First Aid CPR/AED Certification.
- Strong background in Provincial and National HSE regulations.
- Knowledgeable of the WCB system and reporting requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs: Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s license with a clean abstract and reliable vehicle capable of travelling long distances and to remote locations.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Proven planning, organizing and multi-tasking abilities with excellent verbal and written and communication skills.
- Able to develop and implement health and safety performance related systems and procedures where required.
- Able to work well with staff, contractors or client personnel.
- Must have a proactive and positive communicative approach to the role.
- Self-motivated, flexible & willing to assist with additional safety related items that may not be part of the initial job description.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential.

**Role & Responsibilities of Safety Advisor**:

- Under direction of HSE Supervisor, complete Project Safety Inspections.
- Monitor front line workers to ensure site compliance.
- Review, develop, distribute, maintain, report and file all HSE documentation such as JHA’s, SWP’s, FLHA’s, Toolbox Talks, Weekly Safety Meetings, Inspections, Safety Literature, Bulletins, Posters and Rules.
- Train field employees in use of Field Level HSE Documents such as JHA’s, Procedures, Practices and FLHA’s.
- Under direction of HSE Supervisor, implement, test and revise the site-specific Emergency Preparedness Plan.
- Review/Post all Safety Incidents, Inspections, bulletins, audit results and new changes to policies, procedures or rules with front line workers.
- Assist HSE Supervisor with site Incident Investigations and complete required reporting in a timely manner.
- Upon recommendation of HSE Supervisor, stop activities that pose threats to workers' health and safety.
- Attend all required Client HSE meetings.
- Complete all project specific HSE statistical reports.

**Schedule**:

- Shift on site is 21 days in, 7 days out.
- 10 hour shift
- Day shift

**Salary**: $35.00-$40.00 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

- Monday to Friday

- Weekend availability
