**Rate of Pay: $32.58 - $41.51 per hour**

This position is attached to the Youth Addictions Programs and will provide addiction and mental health services to vulnerable youth clients within the community. The addiction counselor will work within the integrative youth system, as well as, the youth residential program within Sister Margaret Smith Centre. The addiction counsellor will provide screening, assessment, consultation, counseling, referrals, discharge planning and follow-up services for program clients and parents as required. The role will also include collaborating with partner agencies, families and colleagues with regards to the youth mental health and addiction needs.

**Qualifications**:

- A Bachelor of Social Work degree or equivalent from an accredited University
- Must be registered with a regulatory body
- Minimum of 4 years experience with youth mental health or addictions
- Knowledge in evidence based practice models applicable to youth mental health and addictions field and experience working with community partners
- Preference given to those with DBT skills training or experience
- Experience with interdisciplinary bio-psychosocial model of care
- Understanding of harm reduction model
- Demonstrated understanding of Northern and Indigenous communities
- A valid Ontario Driver's License, access to a reliable and adequate insurance
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work

**CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT**
- This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
