**Job Summary**:
The Manager, Household Goods is a key member of the company who is responsible for Household’s success in contributing to the achievement of company goals and objectives. This individual plays an important role in expanding business & maintaining the smooth and efficient operations of the Household department. The Manager, Household Goods is responsible for all the different aspects of sales activity and the department’s operation.
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Provide exceptional customer service, and resolve any issues and customer complaints immediately
- Communicate with customers to answer questions or provide schedule information as well as status updates
- Inquire internal departments and external carriers about rates
- Deal with carriers and customers directly to provide quotations
- Coordinate pickup and delivery orders with trucking companies
- Coordinate with the shipper and any subcontractors, and trace status to ensure timely delivery and pick up
- Generate correct, complete, and consistent shipping documentation to ensure on time delivery of goods to customers in accordance with international and destination country laws and import regulations
- Maintain files and records to ensure all relevant documentation is kept on file
- Accurate data entry on AS400
- Contact customers to regarding arrival information, set up customs clearance, and delivery schedule
- Coordinate with Warehouse Department for the delivery of customers’ products
- Physically go to the warehouse and confirm the dimensions and number of packages to print out waybills with correct information
- Confirm the numbers of received goods are accurate according to the packing list and physically check to make sure there is no damage on them
- Escort truckers to ensure pick is virtually confirmed in warehouse
- Responsible for arranging insurance coverage for all goods being shipped and coordinate with the customer as needed for any claims that may arise
- Support HHG operations in Calgary
- Maintain open lines of communication between management and staff in a respectful, effective and professional manner
- Issue, send, and maintain invoices accurately
- Assist with month end procedures that includes data entry to Excel Sheet to produce business reports, inventory counting, creating inventory sheets, managing auto logs, producing cargo accident reports, and contacting customers whose payments are overdue
- Keep the maintenance schedules organized for the household and customer service vehicles, contact an auto maintenance company, and make payments
- Obtain quotations for packing materials and submit purchase orders
- Various other duties as may be required
**Qualifications**:
- 1 to 3 years of experience in similar roles
- Direct working knowledge of moving operations, and customer service (include quotation
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and customers
- Ability to interpret and act upon complex instructions.
- Solid project management skills are essential
- Strong quantitative and critical thinking skills
- Fluent in English and Japanese language
**Education/Certifications**:
- High school diploma required
- Valid class 5 driver’s license
