**Polyethics Industries** is looking for highly motivated Shift Supervisor at our Harvie Settlement Road location.

The position will oversee the safety & efficiency of running the shift, while coordinating the production on the plant floor. Tasks will include, but not be limited to, the supervision of the plant floor & anyone within the plant, production outputs, health & safety, plant coordination & direction of employees, training where required, maintaining and following Polyethics Policy & procedures. The Supervisor ensures the safe operation of equipment while providing a high level of quality and safety with a minimum amount of scrap or waste. They are to supervise, direct, train and oversee the work of their shift while promoting teamwork, quality and continuous improvement.

The Shift Supervisor is expected to work 12 hour shifts, rotating continentals; 2 weeks days (7am-7pm) & 2 weeks of nights (7pm-7am).

**Major Responsibilities of Shift Supervisor**:

- Supervise, direct and oversee the work of Safety, Quality & the Production Process;
- Ensure the safe, and efficient operation of all operating machines and related equipment;
- Monitor proper shutdown procedures and ensure all related equipment is shutdown properly;
- Review & complete standardized work, safety checks daily and that it is completed and verified;
- Product consistency and highest quality standards are upheld, checked and verified daily & randomly;
- Observe material mixes and ensure the correct raw materials are used in the production process;
- Establish a work standard of consistency on shift, maintain a standard of work that is consistent to all employees;
- Ensure all employees are aware of safety and potential hazards in the environment and work in a safe manner;
- Equipment failure is reported and pulled out of line to ensure machine is not damaged and meets safety protocol;
- Ensure quality checks are being performed and non-conforming product is investigated or set aside;
- Provide general administration, ensure all paperwork is complete and delivered to the appropriate individuals;
- Accountable to effectively track and resolve operating and equipment issues that may arise; or ask for assistance;
- Maintain/Monitor Production Outputs required by each machine, communicate reasons for lack of output /safety /maintenance related / Process or People related;
- Establish and maintain effective open communication with the management team and shift when needed;
- Create on shift meetings (Toolbox Talk) to involve employees and communicate relative information daily;
- Provide Assistance/Support and training when and where required to help build experienced teams;
- Attend and participate in meetings as required;
- Other related duties as required.

**Additional Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Complete special projects, oversee the setup of new machinery, ensure proper Health & Safety standards and policies & training requirements and perform miscellaneous assignments as required, assist with general office responsibilities such as grabbing orders and labels;
- Provide assistance to the All employees, Plant Manager & Maintenance;
- Ensure work areas are clean, secure and well maintained throughout shift and for the next;
- End of the day checks should include but not limited to clean up/blow down/sweep, garbage & cardboard, paperwork & random quality checks and that the plant is left in the highest standard possible.

**Education and/or Experience**:

- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least an additional two years of supervisory experience leading teams;
- Experience with the coordination of daily plant operations is an asset;
- Well organized, strong attention to detail and accuracy with solid customer service;
- Outspoken, honest and ambitious drive to see work through, Capacity to effectively communicate, and provide direction to others;
- Ability to multi-task and perform well under pressure;
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
