Halifax, Canada Metro Community Housing Association Full time

Metro Community Housing Association is a non-profit, community-based agency that provides support and residential services to persons who have experienced mental health difficulties.

We are looking for client focused Overnight Support worker (80 hours bi-weekly). Overnight Support Staff are responsible for providing supervision and support to clients as needed during the overnight hours. This position is ideal for college/university students as you can (other than two hours of active/awake hours) complete schoolwork or rest while earning extra income. Shifts are between 9:00pm to 7:00am.

You will be successful in this role if you are respectful to everyone you support and work with, put clients needs first, have a good sense of professional boundaries, possess good judgement, and have an innate ability to make people feel good.

**Education and Experience**

**Required**:

- Post-secondary education in human services or related field (completed or in-progress) **OR** 2 years equivalent experience in an RRW level position
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, online training)
- Completion of Core Competencies Preferred

**ASSET**:

- Work, volunteer, or lived experience in a care position/support capacity
- Understanding of mental health disorders and symptoms

**Abilities**
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to make appropriate decisions in time of client crisis or house emergencies
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Effective oral and written communication skills

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 7 months
Part-time hours: 60 per week

**Salary**: $145.00 per day
