We are currently looking for someone to join our product development in a full-time, permanent capacity.
- **8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday**

**Position Summary**:Reporting to the **_Product Development and Projects Manager_**, this role is responsible for assisting with the development of new products for customers from initial concept to full production, conducting initial production trails, and evaluating customer feedback. This role will also provide technical support for business development and our customers.

**Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities**
- Work with the Product Development Manager to prepare data summaries and draft technical documents for customers, achieve clear product development targets and timelines.
- Activity coordinate with all departments (including production, scheduling, quality control, packaging, purchasing, sales, and customers) on project status, technical requirements, timelines, and clarify customers' requirements.
- Ensure that developed products comply with government regulations, certification requirements, and customers' specifications (**CCFIA** and/or **USDA/FDA**). Additionally will be responsible for details related to regulatory requirements and proof of packaging.
- Support and provide process improvement for production line and test theories, work closely with members quality control and production.
- Assist line leads and supervisors during initial trials and qualification processes on the production floor
- Finalize product specifications for the purpose of maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with the plant trials and products.
- Coordinate the collection, labeling, packaging, and distribution of samples to marketing and sensory for tasting feedback.
- Assist with production launches of new products and ensure that product hit required standards,
- Lead the ordering and managing of ingredients required for production trials
- Have a good understanding of current related food trends, innovations, equipment, and technologies.
- Taste sample of meat, vegetables, meatless proteins, and seafood products.
- Create and update finished product sensory specifications for new and existing products
- Provide support and examine product backlogs.
- Performing other duties and responsibilities assigned

**Qualifications**
- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle (must be able to travel short and occasionally long distances, to pick up items and samples related to the development of products)
- A post-secondary education/degree in Food Science or related discipline is required or equivalent education and work experience.
- ** 1 - 2 years'** experience with Food Processing and/or Quality Control, specifically with meat, vegetables, and seafood products.
- **Must be capable of tasting samples of meat, vegetables, and seafood products.**:

- Experience with nutrition labeling programs, is considered a **strong asset**:

- Knowledge of **BRC **is an asset
- Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Knowledge of **SAP/ERP** systems is strongly preferred
- Strong oral/written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and relationship management
- ** Able to read/write fluently French is a strong asset**:

- Capable of working independently with mínimal supervision and a part of a proactive team.
- Flexibility of schedule (may require various start times, due to plant trials and startups)
- Able to work in a cool environment (our plant is kept at a cool 2-4-degree Co temperature)
