**ABOUT CAO**

**Position Summary**

The Professional Development Assistant is the first point of contact for students enrolled in the Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant (CCOA) program, and for optometrists enrolled in continuing education courses at the Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO). The Professional Development Assistant is fluently bilingual, has strong customer service skills and is proficient with learning management systems (LMS) and troubleshooting.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

**CCOA Program and Optometrist Education Administration**

Coordinates registration for all professional development offerings.
- Creates and maintains program profiles in the learning management system.
- Assisting students with navigating the Learning Management System (TopClass), and troubleshooting as required.
- Participates in quality control processes for online module and exam delivery (beta tests, reviews statistical analyses and identifies errors/concerns).
- Creates and maintains reports and relevant analytics for the education department within the Learning Management System.
- Collates comments on course and exam evaluations and makes recommendations to improve process and quality.
- Travel to CCOA workshops and conferences, as required.
- Overall day-to-day administration of professional development activities.
- Assist with webinars including recording and/or live event logistics.

**Other Responsibilities**

Creates, updates, and maintains job manual and procedures.

Any other related duties as assigned by the Director, Professional Development and Member Services.

- Ability to travel if required

L’adjointe ou l’adjoint au perfectionnement professionnel est le premier point de contact pour les étudiantes et les étudiants inscrits au programme d’assistant-e optométrique certifié-e canadien et pour les optométristes qui suivent des cours de formation continue à l’Association canadienne des optométristes. La ou le titulaire du poste est parfaitement bilingue, possède de solides compétences en service à la clientèle et maîtrise les systèmes de gestion de l’apprentissage et les processus de dépannage.

**Fonctions et responsabilités**

**Administration du programme d’assistant-e optométrique certifié-e canadien et de la formation des optométristes**

Coordonner l’inscription à toutes les offres de perfectionnement professionnel.
- Créer et tenir à jour les profils de programme dans le système de gestion de l’apprentissage.
- Aider les étudiantes et les étudiants à s’y retrouver dans le système de gestion de l’apprentissage (TopClass) et faire le dépannage, au besoin.
- Participer aux processus de contrôle de la qualité pour la prestation des modules en ligne et des examens (tests bêta, examen des analyses statistiques et communication des erreurs et des préoccupations).
- Produire et mettre à jour des rapports et des analyses pertinentes pour le service de la formation dans le système de gestion de l’apprentissage.
- Recueillir des commentaires issus des évaluations de cours et d’examens et formuler des recommandations pour améliorer le processus et la qualité.
- Se rendre aux ateliers et aux conférences du programme d’assistant-e optométrique certifié-e canadien, au besoin.
- Gérer au quotidien les activités de perfectionnement professionnel.
- Contribuer aux webinaires, y compris voir à la logistique des événements en direct et des enregistrements.

**Autres responsabilités**

Créer et tenir à jour le manuel d’emploi et les procédures.

Accomplir toute autre tâche connexe assignée par la directrice, Perfectionnement professionnel et Services aux membres.
