**Position Title: Coordinator, Game Day & Events**
**Position Type: Full-Time, Contract (May - December 2024) with opportunity for extension.**
**Department: Marketing, Game Operations**

**FUNCTIONS**
- To provide support in the coordination and execution of facility and game day operations at BC Place Stadium.
- To assist in the coordination of the BC Lions events portfolio.
- Support 2024 Grey Cup Festival & Game

**REQUIREMENT**

Attendance at all 10 regular season home games and Grey Cup festival & game from November 11th to 18th. For full BC Lions 2024 schedule, click HERE

**WORKS DIRECTLY WITH**:
All members of the BC Lions organization and other key contacts, including but not limited to: BC Place Stadium, BC Lions Street Party Activation team, Game Day volunteers, Galactic Entertainment, pregame talent/performers, club partner activation teams, and all pregame fan experience event suppliers.

**1. GAME DAY OPERATIONS**:

- Assist Sr. Coordinator with Game Operations responsibilities, including but not limited to:

- Stadium setup and strike, including concourse, show offices, radio and volunteer headquarters, signage, and catering.
- Assist in the creation and distribution of the Game Day Activity Sheets for all staff, including BC Place personnel.
- Allocation of radios and earpieces for game day staff.
- Assist in the coordination of pre/post game giveaways with Club, Partners, BC Place and Volunteers.
- Assist in the coordination of game day accreditation, including distribution and managing on game days.
- Assist in the event management and coordination for special events on game day. Including but not limited to: Wall of Fame reception, Punt Pass and Kick Finals, BCFHOF reception, and Orange Helmet Awards.
- Assist with management of Game Day Ambassador Volunteer program on event days. Work collectively on the recruitment, hiring, training, development, scheduling, and ongoing program evaluation.
- Assist with building out an annual volunteer appreciation program, inclusive of prizing and professional development, when applicable.
- Help organize orientation sessions and appreciation events for volunteers and other game day staff.

**2. BACKYARD PARTY OPERATIONS (TERRY FOX PLAZA)**:

- Manage pre-game backyard party operations on event days. Act as a liaison between the club, BC place, and external vendors for pre-game fan experience.
- Coordination of all backyard party operational load ins and load outs: including stage & production, talent, pageantry, signage, partnership activations, family zone activation (inflatables, face painters, activity book and craft station), perimeter fencing, furniture rentals, and all other event operational equipment.
- Prepare and distribute backyard party operations documents including site plans, briefing sheets, and workback schedules for all staff including BC Place Stadium and other key stakeholders.
- Assist with creating an operations budget for the backyard party over the course of the season. Responsible for managing budget in the areas of pregame talent, stage/production, site rentals, and operational needs.
- Keep detailed inventory of backyard party and event activation equipment/supplies.

**3. SPECIAL EVENTS**:

- Assist in the coordination and execution of BC Lions events, including but not limited to:

- BC Lions Fan Fest
- BC Lions Play with the Pros
- Draft a Lion
- Viewing Parties
- Lions Den
- Locker Room Sale
- Grey Cup game & events
- Help manage the development and execution of additional events as assigned.

**4. OTHER**:

- Duties as assigned by the Sr. Coordinator, Game Operations and Events, Game Presentation Manager or Senior Manager, Game Operations and Events.

**QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE)**

Education and Experience:

- Post-secondary education in a related field (Business, Sport Management, Event Planning etc.)
- 1-2 years of previous Event and Operations experience.
- Experience working in a professional office environment would be an asset.
- Basic knowledge of football and the Canadian Football League.

Job Specific Competencies:

- Must possess proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
Must be an astute problem solver who can navigate difficult situations with grace and professionalism.
- Excellent verbal, written, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to take direction well and multi-task under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a time-sensitive and live event environment.
- A keen attention to detail and sense of urgency.
- Ability to lift more than 50 lbs.
- Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license.
- Access to personal vehicle an asset (not required).
- Some evenings and weekends during the season, as well as specific event-related dates, will be required.

Compensation range from $40,000 to $47,500.
