Summer Student

Tots Academy Child Care Society is a not-for-profit Centre located in Enfield, NS. We are currently seeking kind, respectful, fun-loving individuals that love to get messy. Must possess a sense of adventure, with a passion for problem solving. Someone who provokes the imaginations of children to not only question, but seek answers and understands mistakes are part of the learning process.

2 Positions Available

**Requirements**:

- Age 15 - 30 years
- Enrolled to return to school fulltime in September 2024
- Current First Aid with CPR C
- Child Abuse Registry Check
- Criminal Record & Vulnerable Sector Check
- Leadership skills, positive attitude, creative, works well others
- Must value play-based learning and child-led approach to early learning

**Working Conditions**:

- Bending, sitting, standing, walking, crouching, and lifting
- Working outside in various weather conditions

**Students will work alongside trained educators to**:

- Observe, plan, implement and assess developmentally appropriate activities based on the Nova Scotia Early Childhood Framework
- Individualize activities based on observation of the children, their interaction with each other and their environment
- Documentation via HiMama (training provided as needed)
- Ensure the child’s environment is healthy and safe
- Support positive relationships
- Team professional development
- Have fun

*Preference will be given to applicants seeking a post secondary education in relation to the field of Early Childhood Education, working with children, or with recreation programs.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 8 weeks

Pay: $15.70 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
