Our subsurface intelligence platform integrates proprietary detector hardware, imaging systems and software, inversion technologies, and artificial intelligence to provide x-ray-like visibility up to 1 km underground. We capture, measure, and transform muon data into reliable geophysical surveys and 3D density maps that help geologists identify new mineral and metal deposits with precision and confidence. As a result, they drill less and discover more - reducing cost and risk, saving time, and minimizing environmental impact - ultimately accelerating the world’s transition to low-impact mining.
**The Role**
We are seeking a **part-time** **Deployment Technician **who will be responsible for installing our subsurface intelligence solution on client mine sites around the world. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who has spent time in the field, conducting surveys or installing equipment in a variety of outdoor environments.
We are looking for an individual located near **Saskatoon, SK. **The engagement will be a 9-month contract with a possibility of extension. It's anticipated that you will be scheduled for approximately **10 days per month**.
As part of the role, you will:
- Help install state of-the-art geophysics imaging sensors - both on land and down boreholes.
- Travel domestically and internationally.
- Work in remote locations in all geographic regions and weather conditions.
- Engage actively in field operation activities.
- Assist with planning logistics for deployments and management of field equipment.
- Improvise on the spot to make things work in complex situations - often with limited resources close at hand.
- Be a strong adopter and supporter of high-standard environment, safety, health, and quality practices.
Priorities in the first few months will include:
- Familiarizing yourself with our field operating procedures and equipment terminology.
- Playing an active role in developing our on-site field culture.
- Taking the time to thoroughly understand our technology - what it can do, its limitations, and its potential.
- Getting up to date on your Health and Safety certificates and our client site orientations.
Success in the role looks like:
- Assisting successfully with deploying and recovering projects domestically and internationally.
- Identifying and presenting options for improvement and streamlining procedures.
- Showing solid teamwork skills by jumping in to help where you can.
- Becoming a skilled and creative deployment “MacGyver”.
**Qualifications**
Must-haves - You’ll need the following to move forward in the hiring process (and be successful in the role).
- Some education in Geology, Geophysics and/or Mining Engineering.
- Some experience working outdoors with hand tools and around heavy machinery.
- Some mechanical experience.
- Physically able to lift and carry up to 50lb.
- Valid driver’s license (trailering experience considered an asset).
- Valid passport with no international travel restrictions.
- Well-developed communication skills in English at a fluent or professional level; able to be assertive and respectful.
- Strong safety record and adherence to Health and Safety systems.
- Willingness to learn, be adaptable, and take initiative in an ever-evolving environment.
- Proven ability to work well under pressure and to meet scheduled deadlines.
- Legally able and currently documented to work in Canada.
Nice-to-haves - While it would be nice to if you had some of the below, we’re happy to train, coach and share our experience.
- Some knowledge of common geophysical techniques
- Knowledge of mineral exploration projects, mine sites and/or drill programs
- First Aid, WHIMIS certification
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and office communication tools
**Job Requirements**
**Location**: The Deployment Technician is a fully remote role and does not require you to work from our office in Richmond, BC. We will arrange transportation and logistics from your home base to/from our client sites.
**Hours of work**: 10 - 12 hours/scheduled day while on deployment site. Our typical working hours are 7AM-5PM (Local Time Zone).
**What We Offer**
- Regional and international work opportunities without relocation. We will arrange and pay for direct transport from your home base to our project sites.
- Paid meals and expenses while working on client deployment sites.
- An opportunity to work with a dynamic technology start-up and spin-off from TRIUMF (Canada’s national particle physics laboratory) as we scale up our business rapidly. You will be working to advance a ground-breaking solution that generates significant economic and environmental benefit.
- A team that is entrepreneurial by nature, mission-driven, and focused on doing things right to deliver great customer outcomes. We are committed to seeking out the best brains and the most exceptional humans, wherever they come from and however they happen to be packaged.
