Position: DVT Sales Representative

Compensation: $16.75-$20.00 Hourly + Bonus Incentive
Reporting to: Senior Sales Manager

Based in Vancouver, BC, Discover Canada Tours is a leading Adventure Tour Operator in Western Canada with over 18 years of experience. Our goal is to become the most renowned operator in all of Canada. Our dynamic team shares a passion for travel, creating a vibrant culture at Discover Canada Tours. We believe in the transformative power of exploration, curating extraordinary experiences for our clients. Our goal is to share our love of Canada to the world. We encompass various brand collections and are currently hiring a dedicated sales support professional for Discover Vancouver Tours.

The DVT Sales Representative plays a key role in supporting Discover Vancouver Tours sales, focusing on promoting and selling daily tours. Responsibilities include building relationships with hotel concierges and resellers. This outside-sales role involves actively engaging with clients at events to expand our network. The position requires visiting hotels and agencies, with mínimal office-based activities. The seasonal contract starts at 20 hours per week, increasing to 40 hours in peak season. The representative’s shifts cover weekdays and weekends to ensure comprehensive coverage. The initiatives of this role significantly impact the business’s direction and goals.

**Responsibilities & Qualifications**:
As a DVT Sales Representative, your core responsibilities include:
- Making daily visits to hotels, agencies, and other resellers in and around the Vancouver area either by foot, or by driving, in order to promote and facilitate the bookings of our daily tours under the brand Discover Vancouver Tours
- Leading a street team with company props to sell direct to tourists primarily at the Canada Place cruise terminal, but also at other key locations around Vancouver City, as well as in front of the - Discover Canada Tour office

Training concierge, agents, and other resellers on how to use our booking systems, as well as using these own systems to convert bookings directly

Identifying and soliciting our services and tours to new clients, target groups, and organizations
- Delivering rack cards, commission cheques, gifts, and other incentives
- Attending and networking at different trade events, and industry gatherings and Galas
- Attending in-office sales meetings to update the status of accounts to the sales team and management
- Providing input into the creation of newsletters, press releases, brochures, and other marketing materials in collaboration with both the sales and marketing managers

Studying and analyzing competitors pricing and products
- Collaborating with senior management in order to sponsor events and provide incentives and bursaries
- Working closely with DMO’s and other accounts such as Destination Vancouver, DestinationBC, and Destination Canada to provide FAM tours, in order to maintain the partnerships, and utilize opportunities that push the sale of the DVT brand
- Receiving feedback from resellers, concierge and customers and relaying this information to the product team in order to best improve our tours and experiences

Additional responsibilities include:

- Assisting with other general Discover Canada Tours & West Trek Sales Initiatives from time-to-time
- Joining the day tours under the DVT brand in order to best increase your product knowledge and understanding of the operational procedures on tour
- Attending industry charity and community events such as the Shoreline Cleanup, and DVAN City Clean Up days
- Occasionally meeting at tour departure locations to see specific groups of travelers off onto their tours

Position Requirements:

- Valid work permit (Visa, PR, or Citizenship)
- Strong English language skills (oral & written)

**Salary/Wage**:
16.75-20.00 hourly + bonus incentive
