**Job description**

**Objective of Position**

The Lead hand oversees a team assigned to them and coordinates tasks acting as intermediary between workers and management. The Lead hand also promotes safe work environments and is responsible for the safety of their team. This position requires the Lead Hand to be Hands on, operating the Soil bagging equipment (FFS) among other machinery/equipment and can manage multiple functions in the workplace at once, possesses excellent time management and problem-solving skills, and demonstrates an eagerness to embrace new challenges. You thrive in a fast-paced working environment that requires open & effective communication between multiple disciplines.

**Accountabilities**:

- Supervise and perform duties given by management.
- Promote compliance of the Workplace Safety and Health Act and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Operate and maintain manufacturing equipment in a safe and timely manner.
- Provide daily reports and inspection records to management, according to company policy.
- Identify and report inefficiencies to management to operate at high efficiency.
- Monitor and organize tools/equipment/material for optimum functionality.
- Provide first line resolution of reported issues, improvements to be made and solutions.
- Provides leadership to the team and work well with others as well as maintain a positive attitude to support our culture.
- Provide and or delegate on-floor training for staff.
- Notify management in a timely manor of material, equipment and inventory needs.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 3 years experience in a leadership position
- Minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in equipment maintenance an asset
- Minimum 3 years experience operating mobile equipment e.g. Forklift, skid steer,

wheeled loader.

Must be available for either afternoon or night shift

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

- Manufacturing: 2 years (preferred)
- Maintenance: 2 years (preferred)
- Forklift: 3 years (preferred)
- Leadership: 3 years (preferred)
