The Procurement Associate Buyer is responsible for the tactical purchasing requirements of the Company: Researching of vendors, negotiating prices, issuing purchase orders, managing final inbound logistics requirements, and ensuring prompt supplier payment. The role is also accountable for ensuring purchased products/services meet requirements in terms of time, money, and quality.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Communicate and partner with department stakeholders to ensure clear product and/or service requirements.
- Perform cost and scenario analysis using historical and market data.
- Develop negotiation strategies, issue purchase orders, and govern vendors through SLAs.
- Assess and manage supply risks, monitor delivery progress, and review vendor invoices.
- Coordinate prompt payment with Finance and address quality control issues with venders and stakeholders.
- Efficiently manage the procurement process, considering environmental impact and ethical production.
- Encourage vendors to improve environmental practices for responsible sourcing.
- Achieve annual cost savings/reduction targets and provide coverage during absences.
**Education and Experience**
- Post-Secondary education from a recognized college or technical institute in the fields of purchasing, business, logistics or supply chain management.
- 2-3 years in computerized Purchasing/Procurement roles, preferably the Consumer Package Goods Industry.
- Experience in RFx processes and negotiations.
- Basic knowledge of and experience in laws and regulations relating to procurement/contracts.
- Completion of relevant Purchasing Certifications or accreditations (e.g. Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Diploma (CIPS)) is an asset.

- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

**Salary**: $54,000.00-$68,000.00 per year
