**Co-op Student - Meter Network Operations (Electrical) - Summer 2024**

Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Flexible Work Role: Hybrid

**What you'll do**-
- The location for this position is our Fraser Valley Office (FVO) in Langley.- We are looking for team-oriented, Co-op students who demonstrates strong communications, interpersonal, analytical,

and problem-solving skills.- Working with Meter Network Operations team may include: Monitoring, operating and troubleshooting meters and

communications devices and their respective communications networks, providing first line telephone support and using
- data to support decisions. Tasks will be assigned based on the needs of the department and strengths of the student.- The student will learn about the utility industry and will be given the opportunity to develop his/her communications skills,

software skills and professional judgement.

**What you bring**

post-secondary institution in Canada.
- Undergraduate students working on their Degree/Diploma in Engineering/Applied Science; Data Science or Computer and

Information Systems; Technologist programs or equivalent are preferred. Previous work experience is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills, combined with good judgement and ability to learn quickly.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI). Knowledge of SQL and a

industry specific tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills are an asset and the ability to work efficiently,

independently and in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Some Electrical Utility knowledge would be preferred.

**What we offer**
- As a condition of employment at BC Hydro, a background check clearance will be required.
- This position is for a four month work term with a potential to extend for one additional term.
- Students are expected to work at the job location for their co-op role and it is the student’s responsibility to relocate

themselves if necessary.
