The Alberta Motor Transport Association is a province-wide, not-for-profit, advocacy and safety training association that strives to facilitate the safe and efficient transport of people and goods to make life better for Albertans. For more than 80 years, our work has encompassed a broad range of environmental, social, economic, safety and compliance matters that impact provincial highways. Research and innovation is now at the forefront of our projects, enabling the AMTA to identify new technologies and bring key stakeholders together to advance the commercial transportation industry while reducing human and environmental impacts.

**POSITION OBJECTIVE**

The Manager, Marketing & Communications leads AMTA’s strategic marketing and communications programs and direction while also being an active partner within the Senior Management team in planning the organization’s operational objectives. You will lead a team to produce powerful marketing programs which drive greater brand awareness, global recognition among audiences and position AMTA as the global leader for transportation safety, innovation, and data.

**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of highly productive employees
- Set team goals to promote individual growth and development as well as achievement of organizational strategic objectives
- Establish positioning, identify target audiences, and develop marketing plans with specific objectives across different channels and segments
- Lead the execution of marketing programs from start to finish, leveraging internal support and driving collaboration
- Work to gain a clear understanding of industry needs, it’s Membership and the issues that need to be addressed and prioritize those issues required for future development
- Analyze member insights, industry trends, market analysis, and marketing best practices to build successful strategies
- Develop social media strategy
- Create and promote Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives
- Identify opportunities to communicate the work of the Association at industry conferences and events
- Have a strong, practical understanding of how to attract Sponsorship for AMTA events - large and small, build a plan and strategy with the events team to ensure overall success.
- Stay apprised of government activities and priorities, and create position statements and communications pieces intended for government and the public
- Develop performance metrics related to team goals and achievement of marketing strategies. Produce a monthly report for the President, CEO of AMTA.
