We are presently searching for our next great team member as a Patroller and part-time Lift Operator (up to 16 hours) to join our Alpine team. If you can provide our guests with an amazing experience, combined with working as an energetic part of our resort, we want to hear from you.

**Ski Patrol**

**Responsibilities include: (but not limited to)**
- Compliance with all Manning Park Guiding Values, policies, and procedures as outlined in employee handbook and Patrol Manual
- Ensure guest and safety through identifying and mitigating hazards, maintaining all ski area ropes and signs, opening and closing runs, assessing, and mitigating avalanche risk, compiling weather data, providing first aid, participating in rope rescues, locating missing persons within bounds, and contributing to public education.
- Patient care record keeping and incident investigation documentation
- Guest Relations, including managing difficult guests
- Exemplify and enforce the Alpine Responsibility Code
- Assisting with all events
- Communicate clearance to open runs, on-hill hazards, etc.
- Keeping the ski area clean of debris and garbage
- Maintenance, inspection, and documentation of all Ski Patrol equipment
- Sign and uphold Manning Park’s Confidentiality Agreement
- Night On-Call resort/staff first aid
- Assisting Lift Operation with Daily opening
- Other tasks as required

**Job Requirements / Qualifications**:

- Valid Occupational First Aid Level 3 (preferred) or higher certification or CSP, 80 hr. Wilderness First Aid, or Equivalent.
- Safety oriented working attitude and a professional manner
- Excellent communication and guest services skills
- Ability to be a supportive team member
- Able to follow direction and work unsupervised
- Advanced skiing/snowboarding skills, must be able to ski all runs with toboggan
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- In excellent physical condition
- Previous experience in patrol, first aid, snowmobile driving, SAR an asset
- Avalanche Skill Training 1 (AST 1) or higher an asset
- Fall Protection training, Work on High or Rock Climbing experience an asset

**Lift Operator**

**Responsibilities include: (but not limited to)**
- Greeting every guest with a smile and friendly comment
- Providing physical assistance to guests loading or unloading from various lifts, including Chairlifts, T-bars, Handle Tows.
- Performing all Safety Check required by BC Authorities regarding Passenger Ropeways operations before opening.
- Listening to and assisting guests; seeking additional information from lead hand or supervisor in order to answer guest inquiries
- Notifying lead hand or supervisor in the event of unsafe, unusual, abnormal situations or incidents
- Preparing and completing documentation required by BC Safety Authority
- Controlling line-ups by directing guests to appropriate queues
- Continually shoveling snow from load/unload ramps, raking and grooming ramps
- Shoveling snow around the resort as needed
- Assisting transport with manual labor tasks; digging in winter signage
- Keeping lift stations clear of snow and ice, and keeping lift huts, tools and loading/unloading areas clear of clutter
- Providing lift passengers with dry, de-iced seats and maintaining them during periods of precipitation
- Other Duties as assigned

**Job Requirements / Qualifications**:

- Skiing or Snowboarding experience preferred
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to always provide excellent guest service, especially during periods of inclement weather
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.and shovel snow for extended periods
- OFA Lv3 is considered an asset.
- Able to work early mornings, weekends and all holidays
- Must enjoy working outdoors in varied weather conditions
- On-the-job training provided, must pass a lift operator exam

This is a Seasonal Position so you must be able to commit to the role for the full Winter Season (November-April). As a seasonal team member you may be presented with opportunities to cross train and support in other departments to meet seasonal demands.
